The weekend merchant Xur is back in Destiny 2 this weekend and in addition to his usual exotic items, players can obtain a very rare and sought after armor set as well. Xur has been a Destiny staple since the early days of the first game and his role hasn't changed all that much over the years. Essentially, Xur is a limited time merchant that arrives somewhere in Destiny 2, prompting players to hunt him down to discover what sort of exotic armor and weapons are in stock. While Xur doesn't have access to any recent exotics, as Destiny 2 players can only hunt those in Legend or Master Lost Sectors, Bungie has expanded Xur's role over the past year. Not only is Xur the best place to obtain new rolls for the Hawkmoon hand cannon and Dead Man's Tale scout rifle, but Xur now has rotating inventory of legendary weapons and armor. On occasion, Xur has been known to feature god roll gear as well as rarer items which have not been seen for quite a while, including this weekend's armor offering. This gear set, which includes Midnight Exigent, Yuga Sundown, and Abhorrent Imperative, were set gear that could be acquired piece by piece for participating in the Escalation Protocol activity which was active during the Warmind expansion. Unfortunately, the gear set and most of the content associated with that expansion has been placed in the vault for a few years now, after the launch of the Beyond Light expansion.

However, with the arrival of Armor Transmog, Destiny 2 fans have been attempting to get their hands on this rare set of armor. Many were hoping it would be revived for Season of the Seraph, which placed a major focus on Ana Bray and the Warmind Rasputin, though that never actually transpired. However, with the armor finally returning for a limited time, fans have made their excitement known through sites like Reddit and Twitter, with many also commenting on how long the set has been stuck in the vault as well.

Fans have had a stroke of luck as of late in regards to rare items making a reappearance. Earlier this month, one of The Tower's other merchants, Ada-1, added on of the most rare shaders to her inventory for a limited time. Last seen as part of the Black Armory season, players could get their hands on Bergusian Night after it was added to the Destiny 2 vault. Originally, Bergusian Night was a very rare drop for those taking part in the Forge activities, and after they went away, there was no method for getting it.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
