Destiny 2 has several different activities for players to engage with, and the recently released 30th Anniversary Pack added even more into the mix. One of the most controversial activities is Gambit, which has been long left in a state that doesn't make it a desirable way to farm, both because Gambit-exclusive drops are rare and scarce and because matches can be rather unequal. There are times when a given team will have less than 50 Motes in the bank and the other will already be burning through the Primeval's health and others where invasions are frequent and very punishing.

When players die in Gambit they lose all the Motes they were carrying, making a good invasion count for a lot more than buying one's team a bit of time. Likewise, an invader who successfully manages to defeat multiple Guardians from the enemy team, even when Motes are not at stake, can make all the difference between a win and a loss. Gambit counterplays are often crucial in Destiny 2, and that's the case of a player that shared their Gambit revenge story on Reddit, under the name of grabthekitties.

While playing Gambit, the Guardian's team was invaded by an enemy player who negated grabthekitties' 15 Motes right before they managed to deposit them. The result is that the player proceeded to invade the enemy team and exact revenge against them, rapidly defeating three enemies and negating them a total of 20 Motes by using Gjallarhorn's hidden perk, Grenades and Horseshoes, to score kills with proximity hits. Then, once the enemies respawned, grabthekitties managed to shoot another rocket at the group and kill them all.

Drifter finally brought the player back to their side, also unlocking a Triumph called Maximum Carnage as a result. This is only obtainable whenever a given Guardian manages to defeat a total of 7 enemy Destiny 2 players in a Gambit invasion before it's over. While Gjallarhorn was instrumental in the play, it was also a great show of skill in terms of timing and using the Hunter's Dodge at the right moment to reload the rocket launcher.

Hunters have been considered the weakest class in the game in PvE for a while now, but a Destiny 2 player shared an effective DPS build to make them more viable in high-end content like GM Nightfalls and Master VoG. Gambit is an entirely different beast, though, and skill or great builds are not the only factors in determining who is the victor at the very end.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
