Earlier today, Destiny 2 developer Bungie gave players their first look at Season of the Drifter and Joker’s Wild, the new content coming to the game in Season 6. From new Gambit activities to new gear to collect, Season of the Drifter looks to be yet another opportunity for players to explore new facets of the Destiny 2 universe while being challenged in new ways.

Part of that challenge in Destiny 2 Season 6 will include new pinnacle weapons for Crucible, Gambit, and Strikes. These will not replace the pinnacle weapons from previous seasons – those quests will remain active – but they will give players more weapons to chase.

Crucible Pinnacle Weapon - The Recluse

For Crucible players, the new pinnacle weapon is The Recluse submachine gun. It’s a Veist model, which suggests it should be fast firing but its key perk extends to a player’s full arsenal. According to Bungie’s description, a kill with any weapon will improve The Recluse’s damage for a short time.

It’s unclear if the “any weapon” description includes The Recluse but we would imagine so. Essentially, the unique perk works like Rampage, but it doesn’t matter what weapon gets the kill and it doesn’t stack above 1.

Strike Pinnacle Weapon - Oxygen SR3

The Oxygen SR3 scout rifle is the strike pinnacle weapon for season 6 and its unique perk boosts dragonfly damage. While the basic dragonfly perk delivers a static amount of damage to nearby enemies, the Oxygen SR3’s perk will boost that damage based on the number of precision hits before the kill. So stronger enemies that take more precision hits should give off a bigger explosion when eliminated.

Gambit Pinnacle Weapon - 21% Delirium

Finally, the gambit pinnacle weapon for season 6 is the 21% Delirium heavy machine gun. Like the Breakneck before it, the 21% Delirium is focused on clearing out a large group of enemies by boosting damage.

The heavy machine gun’s unique perk will boost damage for the weapon after each kill and that stack will only reset when 21% Delirium reloads or is stowed. Assuming 21% Delirium has as much ammo as most heavy machine guns, players should be able to shred through enemies quickly.

Thus far, Bungie has not revealed the quests associated with these season 6 pinnacle weapons but Destiny 2 players won’t have to wait long to find out. The Season of the Drifter is less than a week away.

Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter begins on March 5, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
