Destiny 2 may be arriving on PC a little later than its console counterpart, but the game’s developer says that plenty of work, love, and care have been put into making the PC version of the game the best it can be.

Speaking at the Nvidia conference at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Bungie’s community manager David Dague (also known as DeeJ) assured PC fans that Destiny 2 on PC has been developed from the beginning with them in mind:

“We wanted to treat PC gamers like first class citizens since the first day of development. It’s built from the ground up to be amazing on state of the art hardware. It should feel native on the PC. This begins with uncompromising art and captivating gameplay.”

DeeJ touted a number of the options available for PC users to tweak in Destiny 2, which includes adjustable field of view, an uncapped framerate (which is locked at 30 FPS on all consoles), 4K graphics, support for HDR and SLI, and an in-game framerate counter.

It was unclear if all of those options will be available in the PC beta for Destiny 2 coming in late August, but that beta will be the first time outside of trade shows and events that those on PC will be able to go hands on with Destiny 2.

Bungie is making it clear that it is committed to supporting the PC community with Destiny 2, and even though the game will hit seven weeks after it releases on consoles much to many gamers’ chagrin, Bungie has said that the extra time is actually to make sure that it gets the game right.

The Destiny 2 PC beta begins an early access period on August 28, followed by a three-day open beta from August 29-31.

Destiny 2 releases on September 6, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One, and on October 24, 2017 for PC.
