Bungie and Activision officially reveal Destiny 2's PC features. Destiny 2 was announced for PC alongside its console counterparts last month, much to the delight of PC gamers who missed out on the first game in the shooting franchise.

The PC version of Destiny 2 will feature a variety of features that hardcore PC gamers should enjoy. These include a "detailed" PC settings screen, an adjustable field of view, text chat, 21:9 monitor support and text chat. Bungie and Activision also confirmed that the game will offer full mouse and keyboard support and that custom key mapping will also be available.

Moreover, the PC version of the game will support a 4K resolution (3820x2160) as well as an uncapped framerate. It's currently unclear whether Destiny 2 will also get 4K support on consoles by way of the PS4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio, so this may be a PC-only feature. The uncapped framerate is also good news for PC gamers who have taken aim at other games for capping their framerates and therefore not letting their PCs showcase their full potential.

Additionally, it has been revealed that the Destiny 2 gameplay in the livestream was from a computer running 16GB of RAM, i7-7700K 4.2GHz and a GTX 1080Ti graphics card. Recommended specs have yet to be revealed but if this is what it takes to get the game running at a high level then it suggests that it will not take such a powerful rig to run it at average or low settings.

The information is surely positive for those who plan to buy Destiny 2 on PC. The other news from today regarding this version of the game, that Destiny 2 will use Blizzard's Battle.net instead of Steam, drew a mixed reaction from fans who were unsure whether this was the right idea. The trade-off in that case would have been (possibly) better cheating management at the risk of having a smaller playerbase.

It's understandably why a PC gamer would see that and be hesitant to put faith in Bungie and Activision's plans for the PC version, then. But perhaps with this list of PC specific features, some will feel more positive about Destiny 2 on PC.

Destiny 2 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting September 8, with a PC release to follow shortly thereafter.
