The latest patch for Destiny 2 fixes an issue that caused keys earned during the Leviathan raid to disappear upon each weekly reset. While the original intention of developer Bungie was to have raid keys removed from players' inventories at each weekly reset, keeping raid progress and rewards confined to each particular week, there were issues that caused the incorrect removal of those keys leading to this widespread fix.

Specifically, the "erroneous removal of raid keys" that would occur before this hot fix was caused by either creating a new character or logging into Destiny 2 with an alt for the first time of the week. Raid keys disappearing under those circumstances were unintended, and the solution Bungie put into place to fix it was to nix the removal of raid keys entirely.

Raid Keys, for those that might not be familiar or are waiting for PC, drop at the end of each minor raid encounter (Pools, Gardens, Gauntlet) and offer access to a random chest within the Underbelly of the Leviathan. Opening a chest will unlock a few Calus Tokens and at least one engram.

Hot Fix 1.0.5, as its titled, also addressed a few other minor issues:

  • Fixed an issue where a kinetic weapon would always be equipped after certain supers expired
  • Fixed an issue where Nessus scout reports would not add waypoints to certain chests

In addition, it added some features and remedied some issues with the Destiny Companion app across Android, iOS, and its web platform. Overall, the patch is a fairly lean and focused one. The patch was issued at the conclusion of the maintenance that Bungie had planned for Destiny 2 on October 19.

As discussed in its weekly blog, Bungie is very focused on the launch of Destiny 2 on PC this coming week, which is the next major milestone for the game. Surely, a number of new players will be playing the game for the first time while some other fans move from console to PC. After that, the game's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, is expected on both PC and consoles in early December.

Destiny 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on October 24, 2017 for PC.
