The latest Destiny 2 update continues to improve the game, providing changes that players have asked for. Perhaps the biggest changes included in Update 1.1.2 are the addition of Masterwork armor and the reconfiguring of raid rewards.

Masterwork armor is now available, meaning any Legendary armor piece has the chance to drop as a Masterwork version. Like Masterwork weapons, Masterwork armor gives a unique perk benefit, which is extra damage resistance while having a Super activated. Each piece of Masterwork armor grants 3% damage resistance and is stackable up to 15% overall damage resistance. If a player wants to turn an existing piece of Legendary armor into a Masterwork, they can do so in exchange for 5 Masterwork cores and 20 Legendary Shards.

In addition, Masterwork armor can have its base stats re-rolled to favor Mobility, Armor, or Recovery, which will allow players to better customize their armor builds with any pieces they like. But, just like creating a Masterwork, re-rolling the stats on armor comes at a cost and requires one Masterwork Core and ten Legendary Shards. As is the case with Masterwork weapons, finding Masterwork armor drops are higher in raid and Trials of the Nine endgame activities.

The next major part of this Destiny 2 update is a readjustment to raid rewards. First off, the raid vendor in the Tower, Benedict 99-40, now has a weekly rotating stock of armor and weapons that can be purchased by players once they have completed the corresponding activity for the week. So if a player wants to buy the Prestige armor or weapons that Benedict has for sale, they have to complete the Prestige raid first.

And finally, raid encounters are now guaranteed to drop a raid weapon or armor piece upon completion. A common complaint among fans is that getting tokens after completing an encounter does not feel rewarding, so this should help remedy that.

This update also adds unique raid mods that grant an extra perk that is specifically activated aboard the Leviathan and an exotic Ghost that can drop from the final boss of the raid or raid lair. Also new, completing a Prestige raid before a normal raid for the week will grant both Prestige and normal mode drops within the Prestige mode.

These are all positive steps forward for Destiny 2, but only time will tell if it's enough yet to bring back the many players and content creators who have taken a hiatus from the game.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
