Destiny 2, the free-to-play sci-fi looter shooter from Bungie, celebrated its fourth anniversary this week. Despite similar titles often suffering from dwindling player numbers as they age, Destiny 2 has retained its popularity over these years. This is due in part to the slew of updates and expansions that Bungie has released, keeping the game fresh and interesting.

The PvP and PvE metas of Destiny 2 change along with these updates, and in Season of the Lost, Fusion Rifles are experiencing a surge of popularity. This is largely due to an Item Mod called Particle Deconstruction, which increases Fusion and Linear Fusion damage over time. One of the best weapons to use with this mod is the One Thousand Voices, and here's how to get it.

Updated March 19, 2022, by John Higgs: The Season of the Risen has arrived alongside Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion, bringing a host of new content to Bungie's sci-fi looter shooter. Despite some balance changes with the new season, One Thousand Voices remains one of the most powerful weapons in the game, and players can still farm for it using the Last Wish raid.

Farming Riven in Destiny 2

There is only one place that players can acquire the Exotic Fusion Rifle One Thousand Voices, and that's in the Last Wish raid. Last Wish was added in Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion, and takes place in the Dreaming City. To have a chance at acquiring One Thousand Voices, players must open chests at the very end of the raid with keys dropped from the boss Riven.

The fastest way to farm Riven in 2021 is to teleport directly to her using Last Wish's wish wall mechanic. This allows the fireteam to skip a lot of the unnecessary parts of the raid. The code for this wish is shown in the image above. Simply enter it by shooting the wall, then have a player step on the activation plate. Once players reach Riven, they'll have to defeat her, which is fully explained in our how to beat the final boss of the Last Wish Raid guide.

Completing the Queenswalk

Defeating Last Wish boss Riven will award players with an Ethereal Key, which they'll need to open the chests at the end of the raid to get a chance to loot One Thousand Voices. However, before they get there, players will first need to finish the Queenswalk encounter. This encounter is a complicated relay race involving carrying Riven's heart, and requires a lot of teamwork to complete successfully.

The encounter will begin by a random fireteam member receiving the Fate's Chosen buff, then picking up Riven's Heart and walking back up Riven's throat. The rest of the Last Wish fireteam should stay close to avoid the Creeping Darkness debuff, but make sure to be at least 2 meters away when the Heart carrier's onscreen countdown ends, and they're teleported inside.

Once the carrier is inside Riven's Heart, they'll have to fight Taken and collect Taken Strengths to allow their teammates to carry the heart longer. Players should aim to collect the last Taken Strength with three seconds remaining on the new carrier's countdown for maximum efficiency. Players should keep up this system, with each carrier helping with the Taken Strengths once they're teleported inside, until they've carried Riven's Heart all the way to its final destination.

Using the Ethereal Keys

After they've completed the Queenswalk encounter, players will find themselves in the chest-filled area at the end of the Last Wish raid, and with a chance at getting One Thousand Voices. Each of the chests requires an Ethereal Key to open, and they all have the same odds of containing the rifle. Although players can play the Last Wish conventionally, and use their one Key from defeating Riven to open one chest, there is a better way.

Players can acquire up to three Ethereal Keys per week, simply by defeating Riven with each of their three characters. These keys are account-bound, and therefore can all be used by the same character, and in the same run. For maximum efficiency, it's recommended that players collect all three Keys before actually finishing a Last Wish run with the Queenswalk encounter.

Using this method means that the player only has to complete the challenging Queenswalk once for all three of their weekly shots at getting One Thousand Voices in Destiny 2. Using the wish wall, it's fairly easy to skip straight to Riven and defeat them, then leave the raid with the Ethereal Key. The default chance of finding One Thousand Voices in a Last Wish chest is only 10%. However, after players have opened 20 chests in total, their odds of finding the fusion rifle should increase to 50%. This means that even the worst run of bad luck will end eventually, giving players a chance to grab the powerful One Thousand Voices in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
