Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn is here, and the ninth season brings with it a slew of new features, new weapons, abilities, and new armor. Season of Dawn also marks the return of the legendary Titan, Saint-14. However, players will have to team up with Osiris to rescue the hero on December 17. Season of Dawn is all about teaming up with and helping out Osiris against the Red Legion that wants to take over Osiris’s Sundial on Mercury and change the course of history. At the end of the Sundial mission, players will have to battle against Niruul, the Hollow Voice.

Niruul is a tough cookie, and players will have to keep an eye out on him and his minions at all times. Beating Niruul is not that hard, but those who are unaware of his movements and his attack patterns may find themselves dying constantly. This guide will show players the exact strategy that they can use to beat Niruul and his legion of minions in Destiny 2. It’s recommended that players take the best weapons into all of the Season of Dawn missions.

How to Beat Niruul in Destiny 2’s Sundial Activity

The terrain in Nirzuul’s chamber is all over the place, and he stands on a lower platform going back and forth at his location. In addition to his erratic movement, he also keeps firing at players while becoming completely immune to damage at times. Players need to understand his attacking pattern and avoid his attacks while monitoring his immunity because as soon as he becomes vulnerable again, it’s time to attack and melt his health away.

Niruul also has the ability to trap players in a purple shield which keeps players from moving. As soon as a player gets trapped in the shield, it’s important to shoot at the small circles on the shield to break it. Other party members can also shoot the small circles from the outside to help their teammates escape the shield. The shield will one-shot players most of the time, so it’s important to break it as soon as one gets trapped.

Throughout the encounter, Red Legion Grunts, Gladiators, War Beasts, and Psions keep spawning all over the place. Players must get rid of these spawns as quickly as possible otherwise they will overwhelm the entire party and make it extremely difficult for players to fight Niruul. It’s better to have certain party members focused on clearing minions while others focus their fire on Niruul, this way players can make quick work of this boss and claim their rewards for defending the Sundial.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Stadia.
