[UPDATE: Bungie has decided to separate the Niobe Labs puzzle from the Bergusia Forge unlock process. Instead, the forge will unlock at 2pm PT on Jan 9th.]

After a brief holiday break, Destiny 2 has returned to its regularly scheduled Black Armory programming for 2019. This week, according to Bungie’s DLC road map, is set to feature a new Niobe Labs activity in addition to the fourth and final forge.

However, unlocking Niobe Labs and the final forge, called Bergusia, is not so simple. According to Bungie, there is a community-wide Destiny 2 puzzle to solve, and the first team to do so will unlock the Bergusia Forge for everyone.

As of this writing, players have found a puzzle room in the EDZ with the same mysterious symbols that are found in the forges. To view the symbols, players need to look through the scopes of the various Forge weapons obtained from all three of the forges. Some are assuming that the symbols need to be shot in a specific order and with a specific weapon, similar to how players unlock the unique emblems.

Presumably, this setup is similar to the Dreaming City’s story missions, wherein once the first team completed the Last Wish raid, every Destiny 2 player was given a notification and a new map marker. So even if you don't have the time or the weapons to complete the Niobe Labs puzzle, players should still be able to benefit from the work of the community as a whole.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
