The release of Beyond Light in 2020 brought with it the Destiny Content Vault and vaulting of several areas and activities to make room for the new content and ease game balancing. Vaulting locations like the Leviathan and Titan means players can no longer visit those zones, meaning newer players are unable to experience activities veteran players continue to praise like Menagerie. However, intrepid players can still find areas that were home to some of these older activities hiding in existing areas as one newer player has shown.

Destiny 2's vaulted content included Mars, Titan, the Leviathan, Io, and Mercury, the content linked to those locations, and all seasonal content released before Beyond Light. Narratively, the vaulting was due to the arrival of the Black Fleet in Season of Arrivals and several pyramid ships taking positions above the aforementioned planets. It peaked with the end-of-season event that saw the Traveler awaken to push back the Darkness while Calus and the Leviathan fled, going into hiding somewhere in the recesses of space.

However, while the previously mentioned zones are not accessible, spaces in existing zones that housed vaulted content still are for players to dive into. Reddit user ViralVirtue shared their discovery of the Niobe Labs space in the EDZ, though was not familiar with the space, and asked veteran Destiny 2 players what the space was for.

Niobe Labs was introduced as part of the Black Armory content in Season of the Forge, serving as one of the endgame spaces of the season's content alongside the Scourge of the Past raid. Players' first taste of Niobe Labs came in the form of a puzzle that required the Destiny 2 community to come together to solve. This opened the final Forge activity space and the final battle with the season's primary adversary - Siviks, Lost to None and leader of the Kell's Scourge crime syndicate.

Veteran players responded to the post, sharing their own memories and feelings about Niobe Labs place in Destiny 2. Common themes in the responses were how it brought the game's community together for several weeks, all with the goal of solving the complex puzzle in the space. Other Reddit users took the chance to speak about the rest of the content, sharing their love of Season of the Forge's content and weapons which some players felt are still some of the best Bungie introduced into the game.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
