Destiny 2's roadmap of patches and features coming to the game has been updated by its developer Bungie. This comes just days ahead of the planned February 27 game update, which was said to include a comprehensive list of improvements and tweaks. However, not all of the features in the original developer roadmap will be released on time; some have been delayed until March.

Most notably, unique Nightfall rewards have been delayed until the March update. To be fair, this was always labeled as a stretch goal for Destiny 2's February update, so it's understandable that it would be the first thing pushed back. Game Director Chris Barrett said that, while it's an important feature to add, Bungie wants to really make those top-tier rewards unique and worth players' effort:

"So while we really wanted to get Nightfall Strike Unique Weapons into your hands next week to coincide with Nightfall Scoring, it’s more important that each of those rewards live up to the difficulty it will take to earn them. They have to be super cool, so we’re giving the artists extra time to make sure they are... super cool."

However, there is one feature that will actually be moving up on the schedule for February—the first version of Nightfall Challenge Cards. The only other major feature that fans are likely to miss in next week's patch is a system that would reduce duplicate exotics dropping. That feature has been pushed to March as well.

Looking further down the road, Barrett announced that the improvement to the game's Mod system will miss the last planned update in this roadmap in May. He says work is still being done on Mods, but the developer will detail when exactly that change will come to the game in the future.

There's a bit of give and take with these updates planned for Destiny 2, and fans will have to continue to keep an eye on each update to see which features do and do not make it in. On the bright side, at least Bungie is clearly communicating when changes are being made, a problem that plagued the developer in the months following the launch of Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 and its Curse of Osiris expansion are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
