The Destiny 2 Nightfall Strike this week has been changed due to a bug that prevents completion of the Prestige version. Without an immediate fix, Bungie has instead opted to replaced the strike with another one for the remainder of the week.

The Destiny 2 Nightfall this week was originally the Exodus Crash Strike, however players were impeded by a bug that kept them from finishing. To resolve the issue, the strike has been replaced by the Pyramidion strike. The news came through Bungie's official support Twitter account, where the switch was announced early this morning.

In addition to a change in strike, the Nightfall modifiers were also switched. Victims of the bug who want to try again can read about those changes and more in the weekly reset.

For those who didn't encounter the issue, it took place in the second half of the Exodus Crash strike. As they enter a second patrol area, Guardians are tasked with passing through a series of Arc Pulses, but the bug prevents those pulses from spawning. There is a way to force the pulses to spawn by traveling backwards through the Strike, but when the Nightfall is so time sensitive it's hardly an ideal solution.

While some may ask why Bungie didn't simply fix the bug, the developer has had more pressing matters to attend to. Recently, Bungie had to take action when an emote was letting players glitch through walls. The "Bureaucratic Walk" is an emote that pays homage to Monty Python and causes players to mimic movements from the classic sketch "The Ministry of Silly Walks." While the sketch and emote are meant to be funny, Bungie did not find any humor in players exploiting the glitch to explore out of bounds areas of the game.

This isn't the only exploit players have found; one in particular is causing its share of controversy. Destiny 2 recently launched their Prestige Leviathan Raid and Clan Redeem was named World's First by Bungie after completing it. Unfortunately, Clan Redeem was caught using a well known exploit to do so. Bungie has yet to make any statement on the matter, so it's unclear if the title is at risk of being revoked at this time.

Destiny 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version releases on October 24th.
