Nightfalls in Destiny 2 have gone through an evolution since launch and how to earn the exclusive rewards associated with them. And fans have deduced what they believe is the most effective way to farm the Nightfall exclusive reward.

With the current state of Nightfalls after the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, there are different score tiers associated with the Nightfall when using the Challenge Card system. There are different tier thresholds that players are challenged to reach:

• 30,000
• 60,000
• 110,000
• 200,000

At each threshold the chances of getting the Nightfall exclusive drop increase. So then, to get the best chance of getting the rare drop is to complete a Nightfall above the 200,000-point threshold.

However, the key is that players do not have to make consistent 200,000-point runs. As soon as they have crossed that threshold, that high score is kept as a record on the player's associated Nightfall emblem. After making one 200,000-point run, players should then focus solely on speed running the Nightfall.

There's also a theory that having the emblem associated with that Nightfall equipped also increases the chance of getting a drop of the exclusive reward. While there's no confirmation of it and it could just be fan superstition, there's no downside to equipping it, so players might as well.

There are a number of Nightfall exclusive rewards that are worth grinding for, and there are even some tricks to use, like the Mindbender's Ambition shotgun farm. No matter what, however, everything boils down to RNG, so players could still potentially have to make multiple runs of the Nightfall before getting any drop at all. Even if chances to earn it improve, a streak of bad luck could result in a dry spell of drops. But at the very least, these will help players increase their chances as much as possible.
