Destiny 2's Season of Opulence may not start for a few more days, but it's eventually going to come to an end in September. What's next for the Sci-Fi first-person shooter title is the question on everyone's mind, and this is where the forthcoming Destiny 2 Next Chapter livestream reveal comes in. Now, one eagle-eyed fan has analyzed the associated teaser imager to look for any clues for the livestream, and it may very well offer clues about Year 3 content.

The associated teaser (as seen below) states that developer Bungie will reveal the next chapter of Destiny 2, "not Destiny" as pointed out by Redditor JpDeathBlade. This would suggest another Forsaken-sized expansion and/or annual pass may be announced, as opposed to the rumored-to-be-in-development Destiny 3. Another detail of note is the date of the announcement: June 6, 2019. This is just days before E3, where Bungie will be showcasing Destiny 2 already, and 48 hours after the new Crown of Sorrow raid.

This means that Bungie wants to get the announcement out ASAP and cannot simply wait for E3, likely suggesting that the Year 3 content will somehow be related to the new raid. As stated by JpDeathBlade, it could be something "similar to Last Wish starting the Curse of the Dreaming City. Perhaps opening the vaults isn't a good idea." Phrasing aside, the image itself could hint at the promised 'new era' of Destiny as well.

Notably, it looks to be from the in-game director, and when aligned properly, it seems to fit in with Destiny 2's director. Stars align in these images (as seen below), which could prove to just be wishful thinking, but if not, the placement could suggest that a new location will be coming in Destiny 2 Year 3. There are also a few "'tree'-like clusters" on the map that do not appear in Destiny 2, but they do appear in Destiny 1, meaning that Bungie is showing off Destiny 1 director assets with this teaser. What this means is anyone's guess.

Confirmation on these ideas will likely come on June 6 during Bungie's livestream. For the time being, though, Destiny 2 players have plenty to be doing to prepare for the Season of Opulence, so for those getting ready, here's how to best prepare for the Crown of Sorrow raid.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
