With less than a week to go before the highly anticipated Destiny 2: Forsaken launches, Bungie is hoping to entice players back a little early with a massive free update that aims to further improve the experience across the board. As part of that update earlier in the week, players quickly found out that Forsaken weapons and armor have accidentally entered the Destiny 2 loot table sooner than expected and those brave enough to dismantle the loot have discovered the existence of all new consumable items.
In various posts on the Destiny 2 subreddit, players have begun posting screenshots of consumable items received after dismantling the newly added Scatterhorn armor or one of the weapons like the Trackless Waste. One user posted an image of a glimmer extractor consumable called Rainmaker. Once used, any multi kills have a chance at creating a shower of glimmer for the next four hours. Considering Bungie was previously the developer of the Halo franchise, many fans have already compared this consumable to that of the Grunt Birthday party skull which would cause confetti to erupt from an enemy's body along with the cheers of children following a headshot.
The second consumable post is called Finest Matterweave and could become very popular for masterwork hunters. According to the description, activating the item gives the player increased chances at finding Masterwork Cores when defeating boss level enemies. With Mods and Masterworks getting completely reworked for the second year of Destiny 2, this is one consumable that should see significant use for those looking to get that level 10 masterwork items.
Already this week, players have been re-discovering Destiny 2 after the considerable amount of improvements and changes introduced in the sandbox update. In preparing the game for the arrival of Forsaken ne3xt week, many aspects of the game have been modified or reworked in an effort to improve the player's experience including gear perks, class abilities, and exotic items. Raid mechanics also received a pretty significant change in that a 2:30 revive timer was added to hopefully bring back hero moments where fireteams can still pull out a victory even in the face of multiple deaths.
Destiny 2: Forsaken releases September 4, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
