Destiny 2 debuted its first weekend of Trials of the Nine on Friday, the game's new endgame PvP experience that has some significant changes from Destiny 1's Trials of Osiris. In this most competitive PvP mode of the game, players will always seek to bring in their best loadouts. And based on player data, an early meta based on the most used weapons in Trials of the Nine is starting to form.

Here are the top weapons in Destiny 2's first weekend of Trials of the Nine:

  1. MIDA Multi-Tool - 33.6%
  2. Uriel's Gift - 7.7%
  3. MIDA Mini-Tool - 5.3%
  4. Prosecutor - 5.6%
  5. Vigilance Wing - 3.6%

The exotic scout rifle MIDA Multi-Tool is back in a big way. It was for a time also the king of the Crucible in Destiny 1, and it looks like it is also highly effective for many players in the sequel as well. In addition, it's not hard for players to get their hands on the weapon, as there is a quest line that awards it (and the MIDA Mini-Tool) by the end of it.

MIDA Multi-Tool is also sitting atop the most lethal weapon in the Crucible overall, accounting for about 15% of the kills, less than half of the kills it is racking up in Trials of the Nine this weekend.

Auto rifles have also been very popular in PvP, with Uriel's Gift and Prosecutor making the list for Trials. Uriel's Gift is an early favorite auto rifle that players can earn by decrypting engrams. Prosecutor is an equally good auto rifle, which is earned within Trials of the Nine itself. In addition, Prosecutor can drop from Trials of the Nine clan reward emblems picked up at Hawthorne.

MIDA Mini-Tool is likely on the list because of its synergy with MIDA Multi-Tool, and Vigiliance Wing is a dominant exotic pulse rifle seemingly built just for competitive PvP with revives.

The stats on the top weapons in Trials are likely to change a bit over the weekend, but these are some strong numbers and trends for players interested in knowing what weapons to use in Trials of the Nine.

Destiny 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on October 24, 2017 for PC.
