After several weeks of the Last Wish raid challenges rotating between Kalli and Shuro Chi, Morgeth’s number has finally been pulled. Destiny 2 players are now faced with a new challenge in the Forsaken raid and luckily it’s fairly easy to complete.

To complete the Morgeth challenge in the Last Wish raidDestiny 2 players need to make sure they do not kill any of the ogres that spawn during the fight. Two should spawn right near Morgeth early on in the boss fight and because they are Taken Ogres, their blasts can be a nuisance.

We recommend using cover as much as possible and being mindful of team placement. Don’t get caught running out to grab a Taken Strength orb if an Ogre’s attention is focused on you and try to stay in cover once you have Taken Strength x2. Getting trapped and rendered immobile with Ogres walking around is ill advised.

Outside of that it is business as usual for the Morgeth fight. The fireteam must acquire 10 total Taken Strength buffs and then do damage to the massive growth on Morgeth’s back. There are several ways to approach damaging Morgeth but the quickest is using the Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle and a Well of Radiance buff to fire endless shots at the ogre’s back. Depending on the team’s collective power level, Morgeth should fall within one or two damage phases.

Also don’t forget to pick up the Forever Fight Challenge bounty from Hawthorne, as it will reward a powerful piece of gear. Unfortunately, clans must be rank 4 to unlock these raid challenge bounties but we’re sure that Bungie will address that in a future update. Either the developer will remove the restriction or they will help smaller clans boost their rank quicker.

While past Destiny and Destiny 2 raid challenges have put clever spins on the mechanics of the raid encounters, the ones for the Last Wish raid have been less imaginative. The Kalli challenge actually makes the boss encounter easier, because it makes the fireteam ignore the whole mechanic of the raid and the Shuro Chi challenge is pure luck and no skill. Now, the Morgeth challenge is simply, “Don’t kill the ogres.” Hopefully, the Vault and Riven challenges will be a little more involved or…challenging.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
