The return of Ada-1 to the Tower in Destiny 2 was something that made many players happy, both because of an old friend coming back, and because of the implications of her comeback; the addition of the infamous transmog system, and mods being sold on a daily basis. Unfortunately, neither of these systems made fans happy; Destiny 2's transmog process being extremely slow and even tedious at times, and the return of daily mods being frustrating. While Ada-1 now provides Destiny 2 players with a decent way to get mods from the Charged with Light group and the Warmind Cells pool, the issue is that these mods rotate randomly, rather than following a set pattern.

This means that some players may have to wait for a long time before that single mod they need is sold by Ada-1, and Destiny 2 is known to be a game where mods can change everything. For example, those gamers who are relatively new to Bungie's title may find it extremely frustrating to obtain mods they want when the rotation makes it so only one mod from either the Charged with Light or Warmind Cells pools is available. As a matter of fact, there are 29 Charged with Light mods in total, and then also 19 Warmind Cells mods. If players only need one specific mod, the chance of getting it on a single day is 1 in 48.

The Problems And Solutions To Destiny 2's Ada-1 Inventory of Mods

Destiny 2 Ada-1 Returns

However, things seem to be much more complicated than this, as Ada-1 has now been selling Burning Cells twice in a span of four days: first time being on June 3, and the second on June 7. This is problematic because it can be an indicator of the fact that Bungie may have weighted Destiny 2 mods to make the better ones rarer than the rest, which in turn means that chances of getting a few specific mods are very slim. A whole month wouldn't even be enough time to have a full rotation of mods if they systematically changed at the current pace, but always ensuring there is a full rotation of all 48 mods before selling the same ones again.

Despite the issues and the frustration for players, this system could be improved in different ways, meaning that Bungie should try and change how things work for Ada-1's shop. A solution could be to sell two mods per day, one from the Charged with Light pool and one from the Warmind Cells group, thus creating a more consistent way for players to obtain the ones they specifically need. RNG is a big factor to consider here, and even this solution could yield results not too dissimilar from the current version of this system, with the only exception that at least a new mod for each pool would appear every day.

Another solution would be to let Ada-1 sell two mods per day, with one being randomly chosen, and one being on a specific rotation that resets after all the 48 mods were sold by the Black Armory vendor. Overall, it feels like the only approach here would be to allow for a wider selection of mods sold per day, because even two randomly chosen mods would be better than a single one. Some of these mods, like Protective Light, Rage of the Warmind, and Wrath of Rasputin, are very important to the current Destiny 2 meta. A better, safer way to get them would be highly appreciated by the community.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
