At long last, Season of Dawn launches today for Destiny 2 players, putting the focus back on Mercury, the smallest destination currently in the game. Even though the Vex and its Undying Mind have been defeated, time has gotten a bit messed up, which is largely the reason that Osiris makes his return. Along with the new Sundial activity, players will also be journeying through time to save the legendary Titan, Saint-14. Needless to say, much Season 9 will take place on Mercury so players may want to have a certain ghost shell handy to really reap the benefits.

During the Curse of Osiris expansion, players took part in a lengthy series of quests for Brother Vance following the conclusion of the new storyline with Osiris and Panoptes. The Lost Prophecy quest line has players completing ten verses over the course of multiple weeks to obtain special legendary weapons. Finishing all 10 verses granted access to a new quest called Another Verse which ultimately unlocked Saint-14's signature shotgun, Perfect Paradox. With all 11 weapons forged, players would get another special exotic known as Sagira's shell as well.

The shell itself is one of the more unique looking Ghost Shells, modeled after Osiris' own Ghost, Sagira. The only difference here is that the shell voice isn't changed from Nolan North to Morena Baccarin. In addition to the new look, the perks are incredibly favorable to activities on Mercury. You're Welcome detects chests and resources within a 75-meter range on Mercury, while Scion of Mercury grants increased glimmer as well as a higher chance to obtain additional faction consumables on Mercury as well.

Destiny 2 players who visit Brother Vance for the first time following the conclusion of Curse of Osiris would be given Verse 1, which required 1 Concentrated Radiolarian Culture. This new item is obtained by combining ten Radiolarian Cultures which drop from finishing activities like Public Events and beating High Value Targets. Turning it in gives players a tablet which can be forged at the Lighthouse for the Garden Progeny 1 scout rifle.

From there, players can pick up three random verses a week, essentially time gating the quest. These typically involve collecting any number of Radiolarian cultures, Paradox Amplifiers, and Hermaion Blossom. These are mainly collected from finishing activities like Nightfalls, Strikes, Crucible matches, and Heroic Adventures.

As beneficial as the Sagira Shell would be for players to quickly want accumulate glimmer, items, and resources while playing on Mercury, there's definitely an argument to make for ghost shells that contain the Guiding Light perk. Unfortunately for Sagira, certain valuable shells like the Lunar Shell would be hard to replace as it comes with a 10% bonus to all XP as well as Speed demon to instantly hop on a sparrow. Those pair of perks are incredibly useful, especially when players are attempting to quickly level their new seasonal artifact and battle pass.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
