It's another big week for Bungie and it's popular online shooter, Destiny 2. This week's update finally brought about the highly sought after next generation upgrades letting PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users finally take advantage of their hardware's added power. In addition to cross-generation play, next-gen users can experience significantly improved load times, 4k 60FPS, and even experience the Crucible at 120FPS. This week's reset also brought a beloved exotic hand cannon back from the first game as well.

After being teased earlier this year, Destiny 2 players can finally pick up the latest exotic quest which eventually leads to the hand cannon known as Hawkmoon. While this popular Destiny 1 weapon looks the same as it did all those years ago, it's unique perks Holding Aces and Luck in the Chamber have been completely replaced by a new perk called Paracausal Shot as well as a randomized secondary perk.

While Bungie has yet to fully comment on the reasoning for the random perks associated with the weapon, it seems that players have discovered it early. Unlike every other exotic weapon currently in the game, Bungie will be giving players new ways to farm randomized secondary perk rolls of Hawkmoon. The early discovery comes from Cheese Forever, a YouTuber who has an extensive track record for discovering new ways to play Destiny 2.

In their latest video, Cheese Forever showcases the default perk known as Transformative, which reveals that future drops of the weapon will have random rolls. Such perks include Killing Wind, Opening Shot, Eye of the Storm, Surplus, and more. In the future, the mission known as The Crow and the Hawk will be available again for players to run through from the EDZ director page, similar to the final step of the current Hawkmoon exotic quest. However, the big difference is that re-running this mission will include different modifiers to include rotating elemental burns, champion enemies, and more. The accidental reveal shows a recommended power level of 1220 as well.

In addition to this future content, Bungie also revealed that it has a lot more in store over these upcoming seasons. In a new blog post from assistant game director Joe Blackburn, Bungie has a lot of content being worked on and targeted for season 13. This includes returning strike missions like Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and Devil's Lair, an updated Legendary and Master Lost Sector rotation to include the Moon along with exotic rewards, and a console feature update to add in DDoS protection. The highly anticipated Armor Transmog is on track for a Season 14 launch and Bungie is also preparing Crossplay to arrive sometime in 2021.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
