With Destiny 2 being such a vast game that features all sorts of different weapons and abilities, it's not uncommon for some interactions to be unintended behavior and cause strange bugs. Telesto is the prime example of this, as the gun itself has plenty of different interactions with itself, the surface or enemy its blots are spread onto, how it is affected by collision, and many others. This often causes weird and dangerous interactions that can result in game-breaking issues, like how Telesto bolts could be stacked and destroyed with a Stasis or Solar melee ability to generate infinite Orbs of Power when Thermoclastic Blooming was equipped.

Other times, these sorts of interactions are much less game-breaking, but they can still be exploited by Destiny 2 players in order to gain various advantages in the game. One of such glitches has been in the game for a whole Season now, with players being able to skip entirely the mechanics of Expunge: Tartarus, which was used during Festival of the Lost to acquire lots of Spectral Pages and Candy. The number of Pages and Candy per run was reduced, but the bug for the mission is still in place.

Today, a Destiny 2 content creator and YouTuber by the name of Hynra shared a video showcasing another of these interactions, this time between Witherhoard and Malfeasance, two Kinetic Exotics. The video idea stemmed from a viewer's comment highlighting how Malfeasance deals more damage to enemies hit with a Witherhoard projectile. Witherhoard applies a blighted area on the ground or deals damage over time if it directly hits a target, and the blight is made of Taken energy.

Malfeasance is an Exotic hand cannon that deals more damage to Taken enemies, and this works with targets affected by Witherhoard as well, increasing the damage of the gun by 25%. However, this also stacks against Taken enemies, meaning that Malfeasance can deal up to 50% more damage against them if players use a Witherhoard shot and then switch to the hand cannon, or if they have a teammate using the grenade launcher instead.

This would prove to be an incredible strategy for Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes like The Corrupted, where the end boss is Taken, and it would be even more powerful if Hunters used Malfeasance with the Exotic Lucky Pants. In fact, these legs increase dramatically the damage of hand cannons when players draw them after some time, stacking based on the number of hits within 10 seconds.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
