Just one day after Destiny 2 players discovered a game-breaking glitch that could threaten the World First raid race, another significant exploit was found and shared online. But while the former glitch didn't result in anything being turned off, this latest one has. For the time being, one of the new Lost Sectors in Destiny 2, Veles Labyrinth, is not available in its Legend or Master variants, until Bungie can fix the exploit.

The Lost Sector exploit allowed Destiny 2 players to skip right to the end of the activity, sit safely back, and eliminate the boss with ease. This was a significant exploit because it allowed lower power level players to complete the Legend and Master Lost Sectors, which typically require power levels in the mid-1200s.

Legend and Master Lost Sectors are also a source of different exotic armor pieces, and they are the only way to get the new exotic armor introduced with the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion. Rather than leave things up to RNG (although there is still some of that), Bungie has given players a path towards collecting new exotics, but not without some effort. These Lost Sectors can be challenging thanks to some carefully placed Champions and the fact that in order to get the chance at an exotic drop, players need to do them solo.

Needless to say, this exploit allowed Destiny 2 players a fast track for exotic armor farming and getting the new exotics. Players were able to get through the Master Lost Sector in a matter of minutes just by sitting back and picking off the boss with a sniper rifle or even the new No Time to Explain exotic pulse.

While Bungie disabling the Lost Sector variant is expected, it is still disappointing for Destiny 2 players. This concept of farming higher difficulty Lost Sectors for exotic armor is one that many players seem particularly receptive to, and it's something that some hope will carry into other parts of the game. To not have a way to chase exotic gauntlets (the exotic connected to Veles Labyrinth) is going to be met with some frustration.

That being said, Bungie could find a way to rotate the exotic armor piece options around so that players still have a way to chase the new Destiny 2 exotic armor. Both the Necrotic Grip Warlock gauntlets and the Icefall Mantle Titan gauntlets look pretty strong in PvP, so it would be a shame to see them be inaccessible for an extended period of time.

But as was mentioned yesterday, the focus for Bungie right now is on the Warlock Shadebinder Super bug and seemingly nothing else. If the developer can't fix it before the Deep Stone Crypt raid goes live on Saturday morning, then it's very likely the activity will be delayed or some aspect of the Super will be disabled. Once the raid starts, though, Bungie will then turn its attention to other issues like the Lost Sector exploit or bugged exotic weapons.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now.
