Many Destiny 2 fans are complaining that the game's PvP experience is ruined, all thanks to the Lord of Wolves exotic shotgun. The exotic, which was recently re-tuned by the game's developer Bungie, has resulted in a weapon that has an incredibly fast time to kill, insane range, and generous ammo. And now Bungie has responded to the numerous complaints about the weapon.

Responding to a player on the Destiny 2 subreddit who posted saying Lord of Wolves should be disabled because it is so overpowered, Bungie community manager dmg04 said that Bungie is "looking at Lord of Wolves and the recent tuning" and said that when Bungie has more info it will share it with players. But with no plans announced right now to do anything to the weapon, dmg04 said, "Until then, release the wolves accordingly." That means that the exotic will likely continue to reign supreme in the Crucible for the foreseeable future.

It all started over the weekend when Destiny content creators began posting videos featuring Lord of Wolves in the Crucible. The exotic special weapon was just recently re-tuned in what was meant to be a Lord of Wolves nerf for PvE. The weapon was already one of the best in the game, albeit it got much more use in PvE prior to rebalancing. But whether intentionally or not, it seems to have gotten a buff on the PvP side.

Before the update to the weapon, players had to get a kill with Lord of Wolves to activate the Release the Wolves perk, which grants the weapon a longer, high-power burst. But with the change, the perk can now be activated at any time by holding down the reload button. While the weapon was supposed to get a massive damage nerf in PvE and a nerf to its range, it appears that nerf may not be affecting the weapon in PvP.

With Bungie looking into it, hopefully, the issue will be uncovered. In the meantime, many players are hoping for some kind of quick solution with some suggesting that the weapon be disabled in PvP or even giving everyone the weapon like Bungie did when the Prometheus Lens exotic was broken. But until Bungie details the plan for the weapon moving forward, players will have to live with the Lord of Wolves running rampant in PvP.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
