With the release of Destiny 2's latest expansion, The Witch Queen, players have been blessed with a cornucopia of content. An unlikely NPC steps in as a vendor for Destiny 2's zone dedicated to the titular villain.

During the course of The Witch Queen's main campaign, players will meet the NPC Fynch, who will task them with a side quest called "Trust Goes Both Ways." The quest will take players all over Savathun's Throne World and serves as a good primer for navigating the zone and tackling side objectives. But one step of this quest has been tripping up players.

How to Find Faction Chests

The Faction Chests are really just the caches that would be found on any destination. Why Bungie opted to use this new term is puzzling and only serves to confuse players. But, with the confusion alleviated, it's really just a matter of tracking down the chests in the Miasma. Note that opening regional chests, chests from defeating challenging opponents, or public event chests won't count. Also, The Miasma is the zone furthest to the north in Savathun's Throne World.

With the specifics out of the way, the easiest way to track chests is to use one of Ghost's many abilities. There are five treasure chest tracking abilities that can be used, depending on how many points players want to spend.

  • Loot Seeker - Detects caches within a 20-meter range
  • Prize Pursuant - Detects caches within a 30-meter range
  • Cache Finder - Detects caches within a 40-meter range
  • Treasure Hunter - Detects caches within a 50-meter range
  • Expert Tracker - Detects caches within a 75-meter range

How to Loot Faction Chests

With the hard work of finding the chest out of the way, all that's left is to loot it. Press the corresponding interact button to claim the goodies inside. Do this four times within the Miasma and complete two patrols to knock out the quest "Trust Goes Both Ways."

There is a lot of content to be had in The Witch Queen. Fynch takes the spot of the vendor for the Savathun's Throne World. It's an interesting relationship that forms between the Guardian, Ghost, and the Hive Ghost. Completing his quests and bounties will award rank, which grants the new regional armor set. This set is just one of many new goodies players can pursue. With a wealth of content to explore, The Witch Queen is sure to keep players busy for some time.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
