With less than 24 hours left on the clock until the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall, Bungie has unveiled the full patch notes for Update 7.0.0.1, outlining the entirety of the changes coming with the new expansion. Lightfall will see Guardians head into the Neptunian city of Neomuna to face off against Emperor Calus and his Shadow Legion as the forces of Light and Darkness in Destiny 2 meet in a battle of cataclysmic proportions.

Destiny 2 is currently unavailable to play as Bungie prepares the servers for the wave of new players and veterans, who will be hopping in to experience the game in a new light. Lightfall will continue the story of Destiny 2's Witch Queen era that ended with The Traveler's departure from The Last City. In this expansion, players will be thrust into the middle of a war where they will be able to explore the Cyberpunk-themed city of Neomuna, harness the powers of Darkness through Strand, wield exotic weapons, and delve deep into a new raid to confront an unknown threat.

While players already have an idea of the upcoming changes, thanks to the latest Destiny 2: Lightfall ViDoc, Bungie has released a detailed list of all the changes with finalized values. The patch notes begin strongly with the nerf to exotic armor swapping in PvP. Players will lose all ability energy on swapping equipped exotic armors in Trials of Osiris or the new Competitive Division. The patch notes then move on to Vanguard Ops, explaining the new difficulty spike coming to Destiny 2's aspirational endgame content. The notes then detail a whole host of UI/UX changes, primarily focusing on the new Guardian Rank and Commendation system, as these will replace Season Pass Ranks on the player UI. The patch notes detail the incredible amount of changes coming to Destiny 2's armor mod system and build crafting in general. In Lightfall and beyond, all armor mods will be permanently unlocked for everyone to use freely. Charged With Light and Elemental Wells mechanics are being merged into Armor Charge that Orbs of Power will fuel. Speaking of Orbs of Power, most Super abilities will now generate 7 orbs instead of 5, while some supers will generate 5 orbs instead of 7 while defeating targets.

The patch notes further detail the slew of changes coming to Legendary and Exotic weapons of Destiny 2 in Lightfall, with Machine Guns and Grenade Launchers emerging as potential meta weapons. A few exotic armors have also received a balance pass, with the infamous Titan exotic Heart of Inmost Light being nerfed significantly to combat its dominance in PvE gameplay. Players will have to adapt their builds and play styles to take on Neomuna's challenges.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Lightfall expansion is set to launch on all platforms on February 28.
