The newest expansion for Destiny 2 has brought plenty of new abilities, weapons, and gear to the massively-multiplayer game, and the recent discovery of a secret exotic quest on Earth suggests that players have yet to get their hands on a few new rewards. Truly hidden quests such as this are a rare find in the world of Destiny 2, as fans are often quick to solve the puzzles that Bungie presents to the community.

Destiny 2: Lightfall has already opened up many opportunities for power-seeking players so far, introducing several new exotic weapons and armor pieces for fans to earn as well as the brand-new Darkness subclass, Strand. These new additions, along with the many overhauls made to factors such as enemy strength and armor mods, have caused the battlefield to shift once again in the wake of Destiny 2's latest expansion. Guardians can now wield Strand to traverse the battlefield quickly with the new Grapple ability, as well as annihilate foes with the combat options it provides. Enemies have stepped up their game as well though, with tankier combatants now dominating the new seasonal activities while Tormentors serve to provide a new challenge for fans aiming to beat the Legendary campaign.

As it turns out though, fans may be able to take advantage of yet another new weapon available to them via an exotic quest which has been concealed in the European Dead Zone on Earth. While it's likely that this quest has already been discovered by some players over the past week, it hasn't been at the forefront until it was recently brought to the attention of the community by a fan known as seba230903 on Reddit. This quest, located in The Gulch, can be started by passing through a Vex object in the area before searching out five additional Vex nodes around the site in a timely manner. This will decrypt an access key which unlocks a nearby cave, which the player can then navigate through to find a friendly Harpy who can be interacted with to gain the exotic quest and begin a mission.

Players will need to complete this mission to continue on and obtain the new exotic weapon, though it should take between 30 minutes to an hour to complete for well-equipped Guardians. Players may already be familiar with some of the other exotic quests introduced with Destiny 2: Lightfall, such as the Unfinished Business quest which permits players to unlock the Deterministic Chaos exotic machine gun.

Despite the wealth of new content introduced with the latest DLC, Destiny 2: Lightfall has been received poorly by many fans and critics alike due to the consensus of an underwhelming narrative. Bungie have promised that the next year of seasons will answer many fans' burning questions, though many players continue waiting for the developers to patch many of the new bugs that have been popping up since the latest expansion's launch.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
