Destiny 2 has been experiencing quite a few annoying bugs since the launch of the Lightfall expansion, but the one causing Hunters to deal increased damage while using the new subclass might be the most entertaining so far. It's normal for any significant content release to be shipped out with a few kinks and unforeseen problems, and Destiny 2 is no stranger to it. Yet, the latest Lightfall expansion seems to have introduced numerous game-breaking bugs to Destiny 2 at launch, something previously unseen in the game's almost decade-long history.

The second-ever elemental subclass based on the powers of Darkness, Strand was promoted as one of the selling points of Destiny 2: Lightfall. Strand allows players to see the world through a different sight, letting them interact and weave the metaphysical strings that connect every living being and inanimate object. Lore aside, Strand allows players to call these otherworldly strings into reality and utilize them in various effects, often leading to lethal outcomes. In their Super states, Guardians using Strand can weave weapons out of the strings to cut a swath through enemy ranks.

A few days before the release of Lightfall, Bungie released a video showcasing how each of the Supers of each Strand subclass will function in Destiny 2. According to the video, the Hunter super Silkstrike is supposed to be used as a medium-range ability that balances damage output and crowd control. Thanks to a bugged interaction, Hunter players quickly discovered that their Silkstrike Supers were dealing almost twice the amount of intended damage. Cheese Forever, a Destiny 2 YouTuber famous for posting bugs and glitches in the game, noticed how combining Silkstrike with the debuff from Exotic Tractor Cannon Shotgun and the damage buff from Star-Eater Scales, was leading to absurd damage output, potentially one-cycling certain dungeon bosses.

Gladd, one of Destiny 2's biggest streamers, posted a video of them and their fireteam of three hunters using Silkstrike against Zulmak, leading to a blazing-fast dungeon completion time. Ninjy, a Destiny 2 content creator known for providing DPS tests, showcased a video of their fireteam of hunters beating Caital in one bell phase, something many seasoned fireteams struggle with. In their video, Cheese Forever solo kills the first boss of the Prophecy Dungeon using the glitch. While solo kills or one-phase kills aren't a problem in the latter stages of the season, players are currently leveling up to the projected 1800 Power cap and are much weaker, making this glitch rather player-friendly.

While other Destiny 2 bugs are causing certain exotic weapons to malfunction, in contrast, this glitch might be helpful for players who are perhaps looking to clear the Legendary campaign on their Hunters or complete the Pinnacle activities with friends. With Bungie unlocking all the remaining Strand aspects later today, this is a perfect time for players to give their Hunters a spin and enjoy a rather fun and helpful bug while it lasts.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
