Destiny 2: Beyond Light is in full swing and its accompanying season, Season of the Hunt, is beginning today. Players have been exploring Europa to its fullest and hunting down its exotics. Meanwhile, a catalyst for an old exotic bow, Leviathan's Breath, has emerged in the database, indicating that it will very soon be available.

The Destiny database usually updates right before big patches and telegraphs upcoming loot to the die-hard fans. It isn't a reliable source of information all the time, but in this case, the Leviathan's Breath catalyst will definitely be earnable during Season of the Hunt because the catalyst description specifically mentions Wrathborn Hunts, the new activity this season.

As stated earlier, Season of the Hunt begins today, so players haven't had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the seasonal activity yet. However, based on the marketing material Bungie has published, Wrathborn Hunts are an overworld public activity like those of the last couple of seasons. Hive structures will jut out of the ground in the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City, and The Spider will work with players to clear them out. These structures are the work of a Hive god and are swarming with enemies from the Wrathborn faction. As part of the gameplay loop, players will use specially crafted lures to draw out Wrathborn lieutenants.

The Leviathan's Breath catalyst asks for a total of 1500 kills to complete. Players can defeat enemies with the weapon to unlock the upgrade or defeat high-tier Wrathborn with any ability or weapon to speed up the process. As per usual, the catalyst will masterwork the weapon, granting it a kill tracker and the ability to generate orbs of power on multi-kills. The most interesting part of the upgrade is the buff to the bow's inventory size. When upgraded, Leviathan's Breath's inventory goes up by 80 points, elevating it from 10 to 90. It's very important to note that this doesn't directly translate to number of arrows in reserve, but it will be a substantial increase nonetheless.

Leviathan's Breath was originally released alongside Shadowkeep and had a small questline associated with it. For those who don't have this very specialized bow, the newly added Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive will offer it. It will require an exotic cipher, which can either be obtained by leveling up the season pass or earned via the quest that Xur offers every weekend. However, players who want the bow or its catalyst don't need to rush because the Wrathborn Hunts activity will be available throughout year 4 of Destiny 2, which started only a week ago.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
