Part of Destiny 2's allure is that Bungie does not go out of its way to hold the players' hands, meaning that the game can be exceptionally hard for those who are not veterans. This is also true in terms of gameplay features and interactions, which can be quite obscure at times because of how little is actually explained, with an example coming from the whole mod system and Champions. As such, it's not uncommon for Destiny 2 players to not know something about the game after months or even years since they started playing, like how easily the underused Exotic scout rifle Skyburner's Oath breaks the shield of Heir Apparent players.

Because Destiny 2 is a looter shooter game, and due to how some items have specific sources to farm, over the years players found several great spots or methods to obtain what they want. There are some materials that might be harder to come by in large quantities, however, and those are the ones used for Masterworking weapons and armor pieces - Legendary Shards, Enhancement Cores, Enhancement Prisms, and Ascendant Shards.

A Destiny 2 YouTuber and content creator by the name of Misleading shared two great videos that showcase amazing methods to farm Legendary Shards and Enhancement Cores consistently. For Legendary Shards, Misleading suggests using any Ghost Shell with at least 5 energy, so that players can select and slot a mod called Banshee Special to generate gunsmith telemetry data on any elemental damage weapon kill. The best add-clearing Exotic ones are Trinity Ghoul, Riskrunner, and Sunshot in order to defeat as many enemies at once as possible, which can be done either at the classic Thrallway spot in the Shattered Throne Dungeon or at the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon.

The second video is even more useful, as target-farming for Enhancement Cores is not always feasible. However, next week is going to feature double rewards from Nightfall Strikes, so players can go and claim weapon bounties from Banshee and use a Ghost Shell mod called Lesser Core Harvest (Vanguard) in order to get a chance at looting Enhancement Cores when defeating bosses in Nightfalls. This makes running Destiny 2's Hero Nightfalls the best option for fast clears and to have Enhancement Cores as inherent common drops in the Strike, thus collecting up to 8 per run.

All this is especially useful for players who find themselves constantly short of materials, or those who want to spend Shards on Trials of Osiris Engrams to find better loot. It's always good when Destiny 2 players share facts about the game that others might not know, and in this case, it can be game-changing for those who struggle.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
