Destiny 2 is about to enter the sixth week for Season of the Splicer, which revolves around the Vex's threat and how the Guardian is trying to stop it with the help of an unlikely ally. Guardians and the Vanguard are teaming up with the Eliksni from the House of Light and offering them protection within the Last City's walls, but things may be escalating soon. The reason for this is that Lakshmi-2 has been plotting against the Eliksni since the moment they set foot in the city, and she may also have been exposed to Savathun's Song alongside the people of the city.

Lakshmi-2's actions in Destiny 2 seem to be her way to undermine the alliance with Mithrax's House of Light in a political way, highlighting how the Vanguard does not care for the people of the city and harbors mankind's enemies in the Light of the Traveler. This, combined with the fact that she seems to be concocting a coup to attain power from Zavala and Ikora, sets up a scenario similar to that of Captain America: Civil War. The civil war in Destiny 2 could happen soon, maybe in a few weeks, and it might involve a lot of characters and different factions.

Lakshmi-2's distrust of the Eliksni resides in two background factors, the first being the history of violence between the Fallen and humanity, and the second being that she had a vision in which a conflict brews in the Last City. Lakshmi's vision is important because she and her faction, the Future War Cult, use Vex technology to foresee major events, like the arrival of Ghaul and the Traveler being trapped at the beginning of Destiny 2's Red War. While Lakshmi's vision is one in which the Eliksni are in the middle of a conflict, the reason she interprets it as if they are the villains is because of her implicit biases.

It's very likely that Lakshmi's vision might turn out to be true, except that it will have a significant change in perspective as a conflict created by Future War Cult that the Eliksni either get caught in or try to help other people out of. There are multiple ways this could potentially pan out and plausible reasons the animosity could escalate into armed conflict, and the Guardians are likely going to be part of the whole thing.

One of the main factions to take part in this conflict could be the people of the city, if they are indeed under Savathun's influence. Then there are the FWC, the Eliksni, and finally the Vex. It's not impossible that the Vex will be part of this conflict, as there could be an Override-like activity on Earth during Season of the Splicer, which means the Vex could be invading the city through some kind of device.

Coincidentally, the Eliksni are now residing in the abandoned quarters of the Last City where the battle against Insurrection Prime took place in the Scourge of the Past Raid, added with Black Armory. Insurrection Prime was the final boss, a war machine hosting a Prime Servitor within its chassis, but what's curious about this is that its remains still lay where the Eliksni took residence. This means that Insurrection Prime could make its appearance once again, either as a weapon used by FWC and other insurgents, or as a defensive measure restored and put to good use by the Eliksni. Whether this exact chain of events happens or not, this Season's story is primed to potentially become quite intense.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
