After defeating Golgoroth, it won't be long before Destiny 2 players find themselves in the final room of the King's Fall raid. This is the location of the last two boss fights of the newest raid in Destiny 2. While the Daughters of Oryx are more like a pair of mini bosses, players should not underestimate them.

This is still an encounter that does require players to be communicating with one another, as one would expect in endgame activities. But if players can handle the Warpriest and Golgoroth, then the Daughters of Oryx shouldn't be too difficult of a challenge for them.

Preparation

For this encounter, it is recommended that all players use a loadout that consists of add (additional enemies) control weapons and linear fusion rifles. One player should be using Divinity to help make it easier for players to land critical hits, as the Deathsingers have a much smaller crit spot than the previous boss. Like many encounters in King's Fall, solar subclasses are very helpful for handling the sheer amount of adds that will be spawning throughout the whole encounter. Lots of Taken Centurions will spawn as Destiny 2 players progress through the encounter, so having some means of dealing with arc shields is recommended.

Before starting the encounter, players should make note of the four large plates in the room. Two are in the front, near the entrance of the room. The other two are in the back of the room. Players should make sure to be on the same page with call-outs for the plates, as not every group of players will have the same call-outs. Keep in mind that the platforms the two Wizards are hovering on do not count as plates.

Daughters of Oryx Guide

To start the encounter, Destiny 2 players should kill the knight that is kneeling on one of four plates in the room. When the fight starts, one random player will get a debuff called "Torn Between Dimensions". This player will need to jump across a series of platforms that only they can see and then touch a glowing sphere in order to claim a piece of the Blightguard.

Players will need to gather three pieces in order to trigger the damage phase. One thing Destiny 2 players will notice upon starting the fight is that they will see a two-minute timer in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. If this timer expires before players trigger the damage phase, they will die and will have to start the encounter all over again.

How To Get the Pieces of The Blightguard

With just two minutes, players will need to move quickly. The first step is to have a player stand on the plate that the knight was on. This is the first of two plates that need to be activated to spawn platforms that can be utilized by the player that is torn between dimensions (torn for short). The player that stands on the first plate will be able to see which plate needs to be activated next, and they will need to call it out.

Once both plates have a player on them, those players must stay on those plates or the platforms they spawn will disappear, and the torn player will be unable to use them to make their way up toward the piece of the Blightguard. The Destiny 2 players standing on the plates should keep an eye out for Taken Vandals spawning off in the distance and kill them quickly, as they can easily kill the torn player in just a few shots.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team will prioritize killing adds in order to prevent them from overwhelming the group. Once the torn player reaches the piece of the Blightguard, they automatically pick it up, and they will no longer be torn between dimensions. As soon as that player has picked up the piece, all players standing on plates should jump off immediately so that they can be ready to look for the next sequence.

Another player will randomly be selected to be the torn player, and another knight will spawn on the first plate in the sequence. This continues until all three pieces of the Blightguard have been gathered. Keep in mind that once the torn player is approaching the third piece of the Blightguard there will be a button prompt to pick it up as opposed to just having it picked up automatically. Picking up the third piece will give the torn player the Brand Claimer buff, allowing that player to trigger the damage phase.

Daughters of Oryx Damage Phase

Once a Destiny 2 player has the Brand Claimer buff, they must jump down toward the boss that does not have a green fiery aura surrounding them. Upon using their buff, the torn player will gain either the Aura of Unraveling or the Aura of Weaving. These auras allow the players standing in the aura to damage the bosses. Players will need to quickly regroup and use the remaining time they have left to deal damage to one of the bosses. If players cannot do enough damage to kill one of the bosses in a single phase, then they should wait and gradually bring both bosses down with each damage phase.

The reason for this is that both bosses have an ability that will kill all players after two minutes have passed. These two abilities are Hymn of Weaving and Dirge of Unraveling. The aura that Destiny 2 players steal from the other boss will protect them from whichever ability is active, and they won't die when the timer reaches zero (as long as they are standing in the aura). This can be determined by which boss has the green fiery aura that was mentioned previously, as this indicates which boss is preparing to do the instant death mechanic. While both bosses are alive, players always want to steal the aura from the boss that is opposite of the one that is surrounded by green fire. The two bosses take turns casting these abilities.

After completing a damage phase, players will go back to standing on plates and gathering the pieces of the Blightguard to trigger another damage phase. Once one of the bosses is killed, players will only get one more damage phase before they wipe. While the aura from the surviving boss will allow players to damage it, the aura will not protect them from the instant death ability that the boss casts. If Destiny 2 players can manage to do enough damage in this last phase, they will have successfully completed the Daughters of Oryx encounter and will be ready to grab their shiny new loot and take on the final boss of the raid, Oryx.

Destiny 2 is now available for Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
