Any players who are underleveled and returning to Destiny 2 for the upcoming Season of the Drifter and Joker's Wild add-on apparently don't need to worry about being locked out of the game's new content when it launches. There will be a way for those players to level up quickly so that they can play Joker's Wild right away, with developer Bungie saying it will detail exactly how it works next week.

In the past, Destiny has employed a one-time consumable that has brought players up to a relevant level instantly. Another method that has been used before involved making powerful rewards (that will quickly level players) more plentiful or more impactful.

Bungie community manager Cozmo replied to a fan on the Destiny subreddit who said they did not play the first Annual Pass add-on, Black Armory, and did not even reach the original Forsaken level cap of 600 Power. To which Cozmo said that Bungie will have more info soon addressing how it will help players like that to get to a relevant power level quickly so they can engage in the new upcoming content:

"We will have some info next week on how you can power up quickly to jump right into the new Annual Pass content."

It is still a bit unclear exactly what content in the Season of the Drifter and Joker's Wild will require higher levels than the current 650 power level cap. According to the Year 2 roadmap for Destiny 2, all players who own Forsaken will have access to a power increase, whereas those who have paid for the Annual Pass will exclusively get Joker's Wild gear, a new Gambit experience, an exotic quest, a weekly quest, Xur bounties, and more.

Whatever the specifics are as to how Bungie will help players catch up in the upcoming Season 6 and accompanying Annual Pass add-on, players should have a full picture next week. Bungie has also promised to unveil more about Joker's Wild next week, including information about the season's pinnacle weapons.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
