While players continue to work on their Solstice of Heroes armor and bounties before the even comes to an end later this month, Lord Saladin and the Iron Banner have returned following a lengthy time off. The event has a few new changes from the last time it was available in Destiny 2 including now being able to gain Valor rank and completely replacing the normal control flags with Iron Banner fire pits that light up in flames once captured. Another rule change that involves capturing all three control points is having unforeseen consequences for some players.

During a Destiny 2 Iron Banner match, teams can earn a power play by capturing all three control points at once, gaining the maximum amount of points for a kill and now locking down all three points for 20 seconds. During this newly added rule, opposing players appear to be now disengaging from enemies and instead, jumping off the map to deny the opposing team points. Without the ability to take back an objective and no real penalty for doing so, players would rather take a death than risk giving points to the other team for those 20 seconds. Naturally, this poses a problem as players would rather stop playing than risk losing points.

It's unclear how widespread of an issue this is or could become and Bungie has yet to issue any kind of statement. Still, it hasn't stopped the community from trying to find workable solutions to this newly found Crucible problem. Some users on Reddit have suggested that getting a Power Play award 10 points as a reward instead of locking down then resetting the points. While some have even recommended reducing the lockdown time, others have stated that Bungie should implement a system that makes plays like jumping off a map count against the player's team either by counting as a kill for the other team, increasing the respawn timer, or kicking the player out of the match for repeated behavior.

Considering that season 3 is coming to an end in a couple of weeks, players likely won't be seeing any meaningful changes prior to the launch of the next expansion pack, Forsaken. The large expansion not only adds plenty of new content and loot for players to grind through but also update and change many aspects of the game as well. Many popular weapons are being redesigned thanks in large part to a brand new mods system introduced last week. The changes will also impact the weapon type, moving some from an elemental slot to a kinetic one instead. Popular weapons like the Perfect Paradox, Frigid Jackal, and Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun are all moving from the power slot and losing their elemental damage as well.
