Destiny 2's newest raid, Scourge of the Past, ends in a boss battle against a giant robot called Insurrection Prime. In an encounter originally designed and intended for a six-player team to tackle, two skilled players were able to overcome Insurrection Prime on their own without any additional teammates.

In what has become commonplace among Destiny 2's most skilled raiders, as soon as a new raid is defeated, players start challenging themselves to see if they can complete raid encounters with fewer players. This two-player run against Insurrection Prime was completed by Gladd (who is no stranger to raid fame among Destiny 2 fans) and Chevy. The full encounter can be seen here:

Both Gladd and Chevy ran Dawnblade Warlock with the Well of Radiance super to boost their damage during the damage phase of the fight. Chevy, whose view is in the video above, ran a double shotgun and Whisper of the Worm loadout. Both players joined up together to take out Berserkers. They were able to break Insurrection Prime's shields and stun the boss from different areas of the map using Whisper of the Worm while being at the new 650 level cap.

The only special tactic they used, which some might consider a "cheese" or an exploit, was employing a "Joining Allies" area on the map. That was necessary to make a two-player run possible due to the Ionized debuff that is applied after dunking an orb. By utilizing the "Joining Allies" timer, the Ionized debuff was removed from each of them once they loaded back into the area. Regardless of this, it's still a very impressive challenge to complete.

This isn't the only self-imposed challenge raid players have been able to complete since Scourge of the Past was beaten, with a three-player team able to complete the entire raid flawless (Gladd was also a member of that team). And it likely won't be the last either.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
