Destiny 2 players looking to get a boost on their Gambit Infamy rank will get a helping hand starting next week. Bungie has announced that Double Infamy XP and Triple Infamy XP gains are coming to Destiny 2 starting with next week’s October 30th update.

Double XP is first up for Destiny 2 players, and starts right as the October 30th update goes live with the weekly reset. It will continue until November 2nd, when Triple Infamy XP will activate and last until the next reset, on November 6th. Extra Infamy gains might not seem as significant as increased Valor XP in Crucible but those players who are looking to obtain the Dredgen title will appreciate the boost.

To acquire that title, players will need to reset their Infamy rank, among other things. However, getting through the last phase of the Infamy rank can take some time, as it only increases with a win. Now, with double or triple Infamy XP, that final step should be a bit easier.

Even if players aren’t interested in the Dredgen title, though, the Infamy rankups are worth chasing regardless. A few Gambit weapons are among some of the best in all of Destiny 2 Year 2, including the Bygones pulse rifle and the Trust hand cannon.

It’s a smart move by Bungie to add increased Infamy XP anyway, since most players will be trying to face off with the Ascendant Servitor Primeval starting on October 30th. The Dreaming City won’t be at full strength next week but the update is said to boost spawns for the Ascendant Primeval across the board, so it might be worth trying to kill it while gaining some extra infamy.

Prior to next week’s update, getting the Ascendant Primeval to spawn was a frustrating experience. Some were lucky enough to see it and kill it within a few Gambit matches, but others went hours without ever seeing it. Thankfully, Bungie is boosting the spawn rate for the boss and in turn giving players are clearer path to the Malfeasance exotic hand cannon. And coincidentally, Malfeasance is getting a buff with next week’s update that gives it higher damage against Gambit invaders and Taken.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
