Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion leads players deep into Savathun's mind by introducing a brand-new location: Savathun's Throne World. This haunting new patrol area with a bunch of new activities is where players will be able to find a new vendor called Fynch, introduced in the campaign story as well.

Fynch provides several useful rank-up rewards for players who are looking to get the most out of The Witch Queen expansion in Destiny 2. Through him, players can unlock the Veritas armor set, several weapons, as well as gain access to higher Deepsight nodes scattered around the Throne World. The most important features players will be able to access through him, however, are:

  • Activity: Replayable Campaign Missions at higher difficulties. These provide great rewards, such as Ascendant Alloy, required for crafting, and Pinnacle rewards. Each week, the mission is different.
  • Activity: The Wellspring higher difficulties. Also provides great rewards, such as Ascendant Alloy, Pinnacle rewards, and high-stat Veritas armor. This Wellspring version is at 1580, so players need to be adequately prepared for a challenge.

All Activities That Level Up Fynch's Rank

Players have a ton of different choices when it comes to leveling up Fynch in the Throne World. Most activities will provide progress for his rank-up packages, so simply spending a lot of time doing the various activities in the Throne World should help players rank up at a decent pace.

Here's what players can focus on in order to gain level progression with Fynch:

  • Open chests in the Throne World. Higher tier Deepsight chests provide greater progress, so prioritize tier 3 Deepsight nodes which can be accessed after level 15 with Fynch.
  • Complete Fynch's bounties in the Throne World and/or Wellspring. Both locations count for his bounties, just make sure to return for the repeatable ones regularly when picking up any rank-up rewards. Great for earning some XP as well and leveling up that seasonal pass. Make sure to claim bounties in a fireteam for the XP boost.
  • Complete public events, patrols, and lost sectors. Hunt down high-value targets. Players can sparrow back and forth between Quagmire's castle area and the center of Florescent Canal to find high-value targets consistently.
  • Collect Fundamental Osmium. This only gives a bit of progress but is easy to pick up while doing other things.
  • Activate Deepsight nodes and complete Deepsight puzzles. Higher tier puzzles grant greater progress, but players will need to be at least level 15 for tier 3.
  • Complete Wellspring runs. Even without bounties, Wellspring grants a bit of rank-up progress.

The Best Strategy For Leveling Up Fynch

Destiny 2 Deepsight Node

Since the release of the expansion, countless strategies have emerged on how to quickly level up Fynch by running from two close tier 3 Deepsight chests to another. However, because these have been aggressively patched by Bungie and will most likely be in the future, this guide won't focus on detailing how to do that. Players who are in a hurry can attempt to do them if they want to, but they'll need to keep in mind that these methods might not be available in the long run.

Like with anything that involves grinding in Destiny 2, players will need to focus on multitasking. Begin the process by picking up all of Fynch's bounties, and come back regularly for his repeatable bounties as well. The player should also put on a Ghost mod that lets them spot resources and caches from far away. After that, they should head over to the first area on the map that has a Public Event. While completing these events, make sure to grab a patrol and grab any world chests and Fundamental Osmium nearby.

If no events are active, stick to patrols for a bit and look for high-value targets and Deepsight puzzle nodes. Complete every Deepsight node available in an area before moving to the next one, and even complete the area's local lost sector. Players who spot a Heroic patrol should definitely grab it, too. These are patrol symbols with a golden star and involve a tougher enemy at the end.

Activities With The Most Rank Up Progress

Patrols and such will be easy to do on the fly, but players who want significant progress past a certain level with Fynch should focus on opening chests from tier 3 Deepsight node puzzles, which will grant about 200 progress points.

Wellspring is also a great activity, but only when paired with bounties. Players can get about 125 progress for the activity alone, but bounties that can cash out for 20 progress points each can quickly make the activity worthwhile. It's also great for multitasking players who still need to grind for those Wellspring weapon patterns or for players wanting to get their hands on the two other Exotic Glaive patterns.
