With a new expansion, comes a new world, with new public events. Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion takes players to Savathun's Throne World, where new Lost Sectors, Patrols, Bounties, and Public Events become available for players to discover.
The Resonant Splinter Public Event in Destiny 2 is a new event that can start in the Throne World, usually in Fluorescent Canal. Players wanting to get the most out of this Public Event will need to know the special mechanic behind turning it into a Heroic Public Event.
The Resonant Splinter Public Event
This event usually starts in the Fluorescent Canal area of the Throne World, so when a Public Event marker appears, head over there. The ground will spawn a black platform on top of which a pyramid-shaped payload will appear. Players will need to stand on it or nearby it to escort it down a path to its final destination.
While players are escorting the payload, Scorn will spawn to try and stop them.
Occasionally, they will spawn with an orange bubble that blocks the payload's movement. Players will need to walk in and destroy black crystals inside the bubble to get rid of the blocker.
How To Make The Resonant Splinter Public Event Heroic
As players are defeating the Scorn that try to approach the payload, orange orbs will drop from killed enemies. These are the key to turning the Resonant Splinter Public Event into a Heroic Event. Grab these orbs, called Resonant Charges, by interacting with them.
Walk back to the payload and use secondary fire to throw the Resonant Charges into the payload. The right key might be different for some players, so if the secondary fire doesn't work, players might need to check their keybindings.
This will charge the payload, basically. Players will know the Resonant Charge has worked when the payload briefly glows in orange. There are usually two Resonant Charges to pick up per wave of enemy, so keep an eye out for them, as the payload requires a high charge to trigger the event.
Once the Heroic event is triggered, more Scorn will spawn and players have two minutes to clear them out.
After defeating the final wave of enemies for the Heroic event, players can find the loot chest on the black platform on which they escorted the pyramid payload.
