Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost has an obvious starting quest that leads players into the Haunted Forest and starts them on the path to collecting the Festival of the Lost masks and Braytech Werewolf auto rifle. But what is not obvious is an event quest that sends players around the game's solar system and ends in unlocking the event Triumph called "A Brilliant Smile."

It is more commonly called the "Toothbrush quest" among players, because, at the end of the quest, Destiny 2 players receive a toothbrush item to go along with the Halloween and candy theme of Festival of the Lost. Here is exactly how to start the quest and how to fully complete it.

Visit Eris wearing a mask

While Eris has kept players busy this week by kicking off the new Altars of Sorrow public event on the Moon, unlocking The Pit of Heresy dungeon, and giving players the quest for the Xenophage exotic machinegun, players can get one more quest from Eris when they visit her wearing a Festival of the Lost mask. When players go to her on the Moon with the Masquerader's Helmet equipped, she gives them A Tiny Box of Raisins, which is an Easter egg and nod to Destiny 1 (in Festival of the Lost in the original game Tower vendors gave players candy while Eris gave players a box of raisins). This item officially kicks off the quest.

Go to Spider on the Tangled Shore

Take the Tiny Box of Raisins to Spider on the Tangled Shore. He gives the players the Even Handed quest step, requiring players to defeat enemies on the Tangled Shore. Specifically, players need to find and defeat 12 Fallen, 12 Scorn, 12 Hive, and 12 Cabal. While these enemies can be found scattered throughout the destination, the hotspots for each are Thieves' Landing for the Fallen, Four-Horn Gulch for the Scorn, Jetsam of Saturn for the Hive, and Sorik's Cut for the Cabal. When completed, Spider gives players the Winged Chew.

Go to Ana Bray on Mars

Give the Winged Chew to Ana Bray and receive the Armed to the Teeth quest step. This requires killing 10 enemies with each weapon type—kinetic, energy, and heavy. Simply walk out of the vendor area and there are plenty of enemies nearby to take care of this. There is also a Lost Sector nearby just in case players need a higher concentration of enemies to complete. Once done, return to Ana Bray to get the Unchocolate item.

Go to Asher Mir on Io

Take the Unchocolate to Asher Mir on Io to get the Precisely quest step, requiring players to get precision final blows on 10 Vex and 10 Taken. There are plenty of each enemy type right there in The Rupture area near where Asher Mir is located. Get the precision final blows and then return to Asher Mir to get the Piece of Celery item.

Go to Brother Vance on Mercury

As the quest around the solar system continues, take the Piece of Celery to Brother Vance on Mercury and pick up the In Your Element quest step. This requires 10 kills with each type of element—arc, solar, and void. After getting this done, pick up the Splice Drops from Brother Vance.

Go to Failsafe on Nessus

The Splice Drops go to Failsafe on Nessus and players get the Touched By The Light quest step, tasking them with defeating 5 Fallen, Vex, and Cabal with abilities to turn back into Failsafe and get the Salted Sweets.

Go to Devrim Kay on EDZ

Turn in the Salted Sweets to Devrim Kay on EDZ and players will need to use Shadowkeep's new finisher moves on 5 Cabal, Taken, and Fallen. Travel around the EDZ to get this done and then return to Devrim Kay for the Sour Engram.

Go to Petra Venj in the Dreaming City

Next up is Petra Venj who, in return for the Sour Engram, gives players The Best of My Abilities quest, which requires 5 melee kills, 5 grenade kills, and 10 super kills in the Dreaming City to then get the Sugary Engram.

Go to Sloane on Titan

Then travel to Titan to give Sloane the Sugary Engram. From there, players will be tasked with entering different parts of Titan's Arcology area and getting kills. It is better to do this in patrol instead of launching the Savathun's Song strike. Head east from Sloane to enter the Arcology. Refer to the map to double-check the area and then simply kill enemies in each area. Once done, complete to Sloane for the Void Fizz item.

Return to Eris Morn on the Moon

Head back to Eris on the Moon and turn in the Void Fizz. This last step is to perform a class dance in front of Eris. That means equipping the correct emote and then performing it in front of Eris. If it is not currently equipped, players simply need to go into the character menu and find it in their available emotes and assign it to one of the emote buttons. This is dependent on a player's race not their class. If a player is Human they need to do the City Dance, Awoken need to do the Graceful Dance, and Exo need to do the Popping Dance.

Once that is done, Eris give a Goody Bag. Accept it to get some rewards, including a Toothbrush that will go into the Inventory screen. Go to the item in the Inventory screen and use it. The Toothbrush will become a Used Toothbrush and the "A Brilliant Smile" Triumph should pop and be credited.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
