The latest This Week At Bungie post highlights a list of changes and features to hit Destiny 2 next Tuesday, including a rework to the requirements that players will need to meet in order to unlock this season's Scallywag title. Destiny 2's current Season of Plunder has struggled to keep many players interested, since some of the demanding title challenges and scarce seasonal loot drops have forced players to grind activities more than they would prefer.

Destiny 2's current season is coming to a close now, with the impending Season 19 arriving on December 6th in just a few weeks. The as yet unnamed Season 19 will be the final season of the year, and will go on until the release of Destiny 2's next major expansion, Lightfall, in February 2022. The active season, Season of Plunder, has once again put Guardians to work alongside the Drifter as well as some Eliksni friends to hunt down Eramis, the once-Kell of the Fallen House Salvation who recently thawed out of her Stasis prison on Europa. The season has introduced a couple of new playlist activities known as Ketchcrash and Expeditions, which allow players to fight against the foes of humanity in pursuit of pirate-themed treasure.

The latest This Week At Bungie blog post reveals a long list of upcoming changes that fans can look forward to, with many being particularly focused on changes to the Crucible and the return of the legendary hand cannon, Rose. In addition to all that, however, the developers have revealed their plans to significantly lower the requirements to obtain the seasonal title in response to player feedback. These tweaks will reduce the number of Ruffians that Guardians will need to kill to complete one of the challenges, lowering the required Ruffian body count from 50 to a mere 10. The changes also aim to minimize the number of times each First Mate will need to be summoned, reduce the number of necessary vendor unlocks, and change requirements such that players will only need to complete 8 out of the 9 challenges to unlock the title.

These changes make the Scallywag title far easier for Destiny 2 players to get hold of, especially for players who were struggling with seeking out and killing the 50 Ruffians that were previously mandatory for acquiring the title. Though Bungie previously introduced measures to prevent Ruffians from despawning during Expeditions, many players still found the Champions problematic due to the speed that teammates could kill them and progress through the mission.

While these changes only represent a part of the news that came with the latest blog post from Bungie, they provide a huge benefit to players that were getting bored with chasing after the title. That said, some players argue that the changes are too generous, and that Bungie shouldn't make it this easy for every Guardian to unlock the same title.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
