With the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall came several new exotic weapons and armor pieces. One of these new exotics, the Final Warning, is the first Strand sidearm in the game and is very powerful in both PvP and PvE. With the right setup, it can even be one of the best sidearms in Destiny 2.

The Final Warning can mark targets by holding down the trigger, and has tracking on hip-fire or increased critical hit damage on aiming down sights. With the tracking being very useful in the Crucible, and the critical damage making it an extremely powerful primary weapon against combatants, players will want to complete its exotic quest and grab this sidearm as soon as possible.

Requirements

The Exotic quest for the Final Warning is called The Final Strand, but players will have to meet some requirements before they can accept it. As the Exotic is part of the post-campaign content, they will first need to complete the entirety of the Lightfall Campaign, which grants them access to the Pouka Pond.

Players will then need to unlock all the Strand Aspects, Fragments, and Grenades on one character. This will require them to farm for Strand Meditations by completing activities around Neomuna and killing enemies with Strand damage. Originally, some Fragments were locked until after the Raid, but Bungie recently changed this and released the Fragments early. This means that players can unlock them all and then head back to the Pouka Pond and accept the Exotic quest.

How to Get Final Warning

To get Final Warning, players will need to complete the Final Strand. This quest will see the Guardian travel from Strider's Gate to the Veil's front door via a portal in the Irkalla Complex. Once there, they will need to defeat two waves of Shadow Legion looters and a Colossus. The Guardian then heads into the Typhon Imperator to find the Veil Spectrometer and must defeat a Tormentor called Imprint of Nezarec. Players may wish to use crowd control effects such as Arc blind or Strand suspend to make this encounter easier.

After returning to the Pouka Pond to meditate, their final challenge is to complete Osiris' training program in less than 5 minutes and 30 seconds. The Strand subclasses are an excellent choice here as there are many grapple points throughout the course, allowing the player to maintain speed. Special Grenade Launchers such as the Forbearance can also make quick work of the groups of enemies that spawn.

Once the final boss appears, players can focus fire on it and ignore smaller foes. Killing the boss ends the trial even if other enemies are still alive. There are also Triumphs for completing it faster with bonus points if the player can manage it in less than 1 minute and 30 seconds. Either way, once they have completed the Time Trial, they can head back to the Pouka Pond one last time to receive their new Exotic sidearm.

Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
