While the basic details about how to get the Arbalest exotic kinetic linear fusion rifle were leaked last week in datamined information, now that The Revelry live event has debuted in Destiny 2, the full quest to the game's latest exotic has been revealed. There is a guaranteed path to Arbalest while The Revelry is live, with the weapon scheduled to be added to the general exotic loot pool once The Revelry ends on May 7.

How to start the Arbalest quest

The first step is to go to Eva Levante in the Tower, who is located near Ikora Rey. To start, she will give players a Reveler's Tonic which boosts ability cooldown rates. Arbalest is in her inventory and has two requirements: (1) Collect 300 Reveler's Essence and (2) Complete the Party Hard Triumph.

How to farm Reveler's Essence

Reveler's Essence is the special material/currency that is specific to The Revelry event. The way to earn Reveler's Essence is by playing the Verdant Forest, a version of the Infinite Forest that is reminiscent of the Festival of the Lost's Haunted Forest. The Verdant Forest is open to all Destiny 2 players and is only a 200 Power level activity, which is far below the current level cap in the game.

Players earn Reveler's Essence by defeating the five bosses at the end of the Verdant Forest, which players are teleported to once a countdown clock runs down to zero. Time is put on the clock by killing enemies in the Verdant Forest and each branch cleared adds five seconds to the clock of the boss fight. Players should aim to get through 20 branches if they can, so that was they have one-and-a-half minutes or more to get through the five bosses. A chest spawns for each boss killed, 10 in each chest with the fifth giving 15. So that is a total of 55 Reveler's Essence per run.

In addition, Eva Levante offers daily bounties that award 25 Reveler's Essence each. With all these sources, earning Reveler's Essence should not be a problem at all. In fact, players will probably earn more than enough while completing the second requirement for Arbalest.

How to get the Party Hard Triumph

Unlocking the Party Hard Triumph requires earning seven of the 10 Triumphs associated with The Revelry event.

  • Spring Cleaning: Clear 50 simulation branches in the Verdant Forest
  • Verdant Light: Competitive: Generate 200 Orbs of Light in the Crucible or Gambit while affected by Revelric Light.
  • Verdant Light: Cooperative: Generate 200 Orbs of Light in strikes or raids while affected by Revelric Light.
  • Verdant Light: Events: Generate 200 Orbs of Light in the Verdant Forest or in any Black Armory forge while affected by Revelric Light.
  • Spring Hunt: Defeat three bosses in one run of the Verdant Forest.
  • Budding Fashion: Defeat 20 bosses in the Verdant Forest while wearing at least four pieces of the Inaugural Revelry armor set.
  • Super Celebratory: Defeat 150 enemies using Super abilities in any activity.
  • Fireworks!: Land 100 grenade final blows in the Crucible, Gambit, or strikes.
  • Melee Mayhem: Land 100 melee final blows on enemies in the Verdant Forest, any Black Armory forge, or in raids.
  • A Bountiful Spring: Complete daily and weekly bounties for Eva Levante during the Revelry.

The three most time-consuming Triumphs are Verdant Light: Competitive, Budding Fashion, and A Bountiful Spring, so players should focus on the other seven to get Arbalest more quickly.

Once those steps are complete, head back to Eva Levante in the Tower and grab Arbalest from her inventory, which is Destiny 2's first primary kinetic linear fusion rifle.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
