When it comes to raids in Destiny 2, most of the loot that players chase comes from chests that appear after successfully completing an encounter. But in every single raid, Bungie always hides some extra chests throughout the activity. These hidden chests are a good way for players to get an extra shot at getting better perks on raid weapons along with a chance at a red border weapon.
In some raids, finding all of these secret chests is part of a Triumph (the equivalent of Achievements in Destiny 2 that will provide cosmetic rewards like shaders. This guide will cover how players can find these secret chests.
How to Find the Secret Chests in King's Fall
The first chest can be found in the jumping puzzle section before the Totems encounter. Near the end of the first jumping puzzle, Destiny 2 players will come across a large wall. If they look closely, players will see a diagonal ledge against the wall that goes up. Once the ship that players are on is close enough, they can jump onto that ledge and carefully walk up the platform. Near the top will be a small alcove with a door inside.
In order to open the door, two players will need to be standing on the plates that are at the exit of the jumping puzzle. The door will open and stay open as long as two players are standing on the plates. On the other side of the door, Destiny 2 players will find a small ledge with a chest on it. For the two players holding the door open, two other players will need to take their place. Then these two players will ride the ship back toward the ledge, make their way up toward the door, and then go through to claim their loot.
Chest# 2: Golgoroth's Cellar
The second chest can be found immediately after the Warpriest encounter in the maze that leads to the next boss, Golgoroth. However, the chest will only spawn if Destiny 2 players find and stand on the plates in the correct order. The plates and their locations are as follows.
- At the start of the maze, one player should go right. Eventually they come across a dead end and a small alcove to their right, which is where the first plate is.
- The second plate is in a hallway to the left of the exit of the maze. At the end of the hallway, the designated player should turn left, and they will see the plate.
- The third plate can be found in the left hallway near the entrance of the maze.
- The fourth plate is located near the end of the middle-left hallway of the maze. Players should look for a hole up near the top of the wall, that will allow them to bypass the blocked door that stands in their way. Carefully jump down and move toward the plate which will be directly ahead.
- The fifth and final plate can be found at the end of the hallway that is right of the exit.
Once all plates have a player in position, they should all stand on them in the order listed above. If the plates are stepped onto in the right order, the chest will spawn in the middle hallway of the maze. When moving toward the plates, Destiny 2 players should watch out for giant holes in the ground.
Chest#3: The Piston Jumping Puzzle
The third chest can be found in the final jumping puzzle section, which is just before the Daughters of Oryx. At the first plate that needs to be stood on to open the door out of the last puzzle section, players should look toward the right. If they pull up their Ghost and move closer, Destiny 2 players will see a series of rock-like platforms floating in the air. While they are invisible without Ghost, the platforms are there. Using their Ghost, players should navigate their way up toward a series of invisible platforms.
Occasionally, players will need to jump onto small (but visible) ledges along a pillar and wall to make it toward the next invisible platform. Eventually, they will come across a doorway leading to a room where the chest is located. With that, players will have found all three secret chests that are part of the King's Ransom Triumph. There is also a chest that drops a guaranteed Deepsight Weapon.
