The latest exotic quest has finally arrived, giving Destiny 2 players the opportunity to earn the Lumina hand cannon, the franchise's first true support weapon. While it's more than capable of holding its own against enemies, this hand cannon can also hip fire an ally seeking orb which heals them and provides a temporary damage buff, while also partially refilling the players magazine. While the quest to earning this weapon isn't particular difficult, it can be time consuming. Thankfully, there are a few ways to get this quest done a bit faster than normal.

To being with this latest Destiny 2 quest, players will need to head back to the Thorn location in the EDZ. Head through the Salt Mines from Trostland and use the orange Transmat machine to head back outside and up to the destroyed campsite. Loot the chest there which then gives you the exotic quest starting point and a rotating chest location that contains the original Thorn hand cannon, although this one is just a quest step and can't be used.

Once those initial quest steps are completed, players have a few more options on how they proceed. As Redditor ChrisppApples reveals, the next few steps can be knocked out quickly through The Blind Well activity thanks in large part to the Harmony buff which makes it so players can use their supers more often than usual. This means that players have a quick way to generate orbs of light as well as finish the next step that also requires 35 points worth of Blind Well completions. Running Tier 3 grants 3 points per completion and then using an unstable charge to activate the heroic modifier is worth an additional 4 points on completion.

This step also requires the players earn at least 50,000 points from a Nightfall and then kill 100 enemies without reloading. The Nightfall score can be done easily enough with basic modifiers like Heavyweight or Blackout, though it will require players form a Fireteam first. For the second part, its recommended to use an autorifle or machine gun, which are capable of dealing large amounts of damage quickly before needing to reload.

Fireteam Leader is the part of this quest where things slow down a bit as it requires players to use the hand cannon Rose to get kills and complete activities. Players can earn bonus progress by teaming up with others who are also using the Rose. Lake of Shadows and the Menagerie are great options to quickly blast through this portion of the quest as they don't require a huge time commitment. Players have noted that it's possible to earn 12% on the quest each time for running through Lake of Shadows, with some getting the completion time down to 4 minutes in total. However, if every player is using Rose during a Menagerie session, 35% of the quest step can be knocked off at a time.

Step 6, Strength in Numbers, is the next part of this lengthy quest and it is more of a grind. One part of this quest requires that players get hand cannon kills on other guardians, meaning they'll need to get into the Crucible. A player kill with the Rose hand cannon is worth about 4% while an assist grants 1%. Players will also need to generate 50 orbs during this quest with a hand cannon equipped, which will likely gain progress in the Crucible but can be finished easily in the Blind Well. The last part is entirely Gambit focused as players will need to kill an Invader with a hand cannon equipped before they can get a kill within 10 seconds of them appearing. During the first week, it's also possible that players are more willing to help out during this portion in Gambit, but either way, players will need to react quickly when an invasion occurs.

For the final step, players need to complete the Will of the Thousands strike and shoot 11 crystals. Thankfully, there are a ton within this mission, so finding 11 to destroy and then ultimately killing Xol in one go shouldn't be too difficult. Keep in mind that players should use the Rose for this step which grants a special buff called Gardener's Touch which is needed to destroy the crystals. Destroying a crystal also provides the harmony buff which quickly recharges player supers.

With Xol defeated, the Rose evolves into the new exotic hand cannon Lumina. However, it is possible to reclaim Rose by pulling it from Collections. The benefit to doing this is that the gun comes with a mod slot and a Range masterwork.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Google Stadia version in development.
