Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted officially entered its seventh week, with two weeks remaining until the release of the Solstice event for this year and six weeks total until Season 18 launches. Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes made a return to Destiny 2 as well, after the typical hiatus at the start of each Season to provide players with enough time to farm for better gear and raise their Power Level to face this endgame mode.

There is a new rotation that comprises six Grandmaster Nightfalls each Season, and that for Season of the Haunted includes an older Strike in the form of Insight Terminus.

Best Builds to Use in Insight Terminus GM Nightfall in Season 17

There are several Destiny 2 weapons to use in GM Nightfalls in Season of the Haunted, but it's important to distinguish them from what makes a build's core, which are subclasses, Aspects, Fragments, Exotics, and mods. This section will cover the best builds to use in Insight Terminus for Season of the Haunted.

Because Insight Terminus has Void Acute Burn as a modifier, most classes will benefit from speccing into their Void subclasses. Destiny 2's Hunters should focus on staying invisible, controlling the battlefield, and keeping an eye on major enemies to defeat.

With Void 3.0, the best ways to play Hunter are builds with either Omnioculus or Graviton Forfeit, with the former being more support-oriented and the latter being a great all-rounder that hardly has trouble surviving.

The Void 3.0 build should be made with Trapper's Ambush and Vanishing Step for either Exotic, with Omnioculus prioritizing Mobility and Resilience first, with a splash of Discipline and Strength. Graviton Forfeit should be more about maxing out Resilience and Strength first, then speccing as much as possible into Mobility, and lastly Discipline.

A variation of this build changes the Exotic in favor of Aeon Swift to grant Special and Heavy ammo to the team while using finishers, which works best with Echo of Obscurity.

Destiny 2's Titans can offer a lot of team-wide survivability via Ward of Dawn and spamming abilities with Hearth of Inmost Light, which allows them to create many Barricades to provide Overshields to the team. This build is great with high Discipline and Resilience.

Ursa Furiosa is also useful to provide defensive and offensive support via Banner Shield, although Insight Terminus is the perfect GM to use Ward of Dawn instead. Helm of Saint-14 is also a good option, especially for the boss room.

Destiny 2's Warlocks have the most options in Insight Terminus, as they can spec into either Stasis for crowd control, Void for debuffs and survivability, and Solar for support and survivability.

Stasis builds with the Osmiomancy Exotic gloves, and the Bleak Watcher Aspect will allow Warlocks to chain-freeze multiple enemies in any given room, which is extremely important for controlling the battlefield in dangerous situations.

This build should be focused on Discipline and Firepower mods to reduce the grenades' cooldown as much as possible, eventually speccing into Resilience and Recovery.

Destiny 2 Stasis

Void 3.0 Warlocks can use Contraverse Hold for more powerful grenades that recharge faster, debuffing enemies in an area with Echo of Undermining. This build should prioritize Resilience, Discipline, and Recovery.

Lastly, Solar 3.0 Warlocks can also go the support route and use Well of Radiance to constantly heal allies and themselves, with the best Exotics being Phoenix Protocol for more frequent Supers and Starfire Protocol for grenade spam.

Because GM Nightfalls tend to be unforgiving when Destiny 2 players make mistakes, it's important to always have enough ammo to deal with Champions and the various named enemies that will appear in every activity.

Generally speaking, it's also a good idea to have two copies of the seasonal Armor of the Dying Star mod on a given chest armor because of Insight Terminus' high Void damage.

How to Beat Insight Terminus GM Nightfall in Season 17 - Beginning of The Strike

The first section of the Insight Terminus GM requires players to hop on their Sparrows and sprint to a cave down on the right. Keeping on the path will lead to a grotto where several Vex enemies are located, including a Void-shielded Minotaur and two Barrier Champions.

Destiny-2-Vex-Hunter-Showdown

This room is quite easy to go through with a full team, and it can be even easier with one person on the team using Witherhoard to clear adds quickly and efficiently. Barrier Champions and the Minotaur should be prioritized.

The next room features Cabal enemies, with numerous regular Cabal soldiers, Psions, and a single Barrier Champion on the opposite side from where players come in. Destiny 2 players should defeat adds at the entrance of the room and then focus on the Barrier Champion before dealing with the remaining enemies, which will be fairly easy to kill.

Then, players will proceed through tunnels where some headless Vex Goblins will spawn. Once those are dealt with, players will find themselves in a room with a charging plate mechanism that has to be fully activated to move to the next area.

Here, it's important to have some sort of area crowd control or support ability, such as Witherhoard for damage and either Ward of Dawn or Well of Radiance, as adds will keep spawning while the plate is being charged.

When the plate is fully charged, two Unstoppable Champions may spawn. If they do spawn, they will count for Platinum rewards and should be eliminated. Otherwise, players can move to the next area. Some Gladiators and War Beasts will also spawn, so it's important to deal with them as soon as possible to avoid being one-shot by melee attacks.

How to Beat Insight Terminus GM Nightfall in Season 17 - Pursue Kargen

Destiny 2 players will now enter a giant grotto with Vex infrastructure where many Cabal enemies will spawn, including a Barrier Champion near the entrance. It's best to handle these enemies from afar, safely tucking away behind cover when possible.

Then, players will have to pursue Kargen, the boss of the Insight Terminus GM, who will be standing near a Vex construct. Players will have two choices: go to where Kargen is standing and wait for the boss to run away, or shoot from afar to make it run away while standing in the main area of the grotto.

This is where multiple enemies will spawn, including a Barrier Champion and an Unstoppable Champion, so it's wise to stay there only if well-prepared to deal with them. Moving to the area where Kargen stood is advisable for more safety.

Several Psions will spawn near the entrance of the grotto, and they should be dealt with immediately to avoid being killed from a distance.

Destiny 2 Unstoppable Champion Ogre

The Champions, on the other hand, will be near the middle of the room. Players should prioritize the Barrier Champion and simply stun the Unstoppable Champion if they are close to them, or do the opposite if they are positioned at the back of the room.

It's worth noting that killing the Unstoppable Champion will spawn one of two Arc Charges needed to proceed to the next stage of the GM, which will be the final boss fight. Destiny 2 players should ignore the Charge and instead focus on the Gladiators and the Barrier Champions that will spawn near Kargen's initial position.

It's useful to deal with them from as far as possible so that the Barrier Champion doesn't deal too much damage and the Gladiators are kept at bay, avoiding their powerful melees.

After that, players should grab the Arc Charge and deposit it, which will trigger more enemies to spawn in the middle of the map. Two Barrier Champions and one Unstoppable Champion will spawn, so it's best to deal with the Champions as safely as possible. Isolating them is the best strategy, keeping the other two stunned while the third is eliminated.

There will also be many adds spawning from the sides of the map, including more sniper Psions. Players should defeat the Champions first and then clear the rest of the room.

It's worth noting that the aforementioned Unstoppable Champion will drop an Arc Charge when defeated, which players can collect when it's safe. Also, upon picking it up, another Barrier Champion will spawn at the end of the room, alongside some Gladiators.

Destiny 2 players should defeat the Champion first, leaving the Arc Charge for later. Once all the enemies are defeated, players should deposit the Arc Charge, finally opening the portal to the next room.

Before moving forward, however, several Vex Goblins and a Void-shielded Minotaur will march into the room. They should be dealt with immediately, starting with the Minotaur.

How to Beat Insight Terminus GM Nightfall in Season 17 - Boss Room

In order to reach the final boss of the Insight Terminus GM, players will have to navigate a few corridors with wells to drop down into. This is easy to do, particularly because a marker highlights the right direction.

destiny 2 insight terminus 7

Once players reach the final room, Kargen will be in the middle of it, defeating multiple enemies on its own. Players can't damage enemies at this stage, and they should let the boss do its animation.

In the boss arena, Kargen will stand in the middle of it, near the ceiling, in an immune state. Players need to activate the plate in the middle by standing on it, like at the beginning of the Grandmaster Nightfall Strike. Once activated, Kargen will become vulnerable, and multiple adds will spawn.

There will be minor and major War Beasts charging players and several regular Cabal soldiers coming from the portals, which players can defeat before stating their damage phase on Kargen.

The boss will be vulnerable only for a health bar and a half. Also, the boss will keep shooting Void trails that will push players in the air if they get caught by the explosion, and they will deal tremendous damage because Insight Terminus has Void Acute Burn active.

Upon reaching half health remaining, Kargen will again be in an immune state, and this time players will have to activate all three plates in the room -- one in the middle and one per side.

During this phase, multiple Gladiators, War Beasts, Cabal soldiers, and Void-shielded Incendiors will spawn from the portals at the back of the room. These are priority targets that will become hard to manage if all plates are activated before they are defeated, as more adds will appear.

Killing adds is also worth doing to always have some ammo to pick up in times of need, even though there is a current Destiny 2 exploit to have infinite ammo in GM Nightfalls.

Gladiators and War Beasts are the most important targets to defeat, as they will interrupt players charging the plates if they stand there as well. Incendiors are also dangerous because they can push players away, even against walls.

It's worth mentioning that adds will keep spawning even after Destiny 2 players capture all the plates, but the boss will become vulnerable regardless.

Players should then have to deplete the remaining health bar and a half to kill Kargen, which will be easy to do with Void weapons such as the Threaded Needle linear fusion rifle. This will complete the Insight Terminus Grandmaster Nightfall, awarding Destiny 2 players with loot and a Triumph associated with the Conqueror Seal.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
