Aside from a whole assortment of new content, story and an upcoming Dungeon, Season 19 of Destiny 2 brought some additional changes to the current content in the game. One mode in particular that got a lot of attention is the Crucible, the PvP (Player Versus Player) aspect of the game.

Bungie added a new competitive, skill-based matchmaking playlist called Competitive Division. The purpose of this playlist is to encourage players to put their skills to the test. Aside from bragging rights, the main attraction of Competitive Division is the fact that players can earn a special Legendary Hand Cannon called Rose.

What is Rose?

For newer Destiny 2 players, Rose is a Legendary Hand Cannon that was part of an Exotic quest back during Season 7. Rose has been unobtainable since the quest was removed at the start of Beyond Light in November 2020.

How to Get Rose

While Destiny 2 players may be expecting Rose to be a random drop like most loot in the Crucible, that is not the case. In order to get Rose, Destiny 2 players will need to first visit Shaxx in the Tower. At the start of the Season he has a quest for players called Dividing the Ladder. The objective for this quest simply requires players to complete seven matches in the new Competitive Division playlist. After completing the quest, players will get their very own Rose.

Can Rose Only Be Acquired Once?

Players who may not be satisfied with the rolls they got on their first Rose are in luck. Every week, there will be a Weekly Challenge involving the Competititve Division playlist. Once Destiny 2 players complete it, they will get a new Rose with different rolls. Some rolls are more ideal for PvE while others are better for PvP. This is the only way that additional copies of Rose can be acquired, and it cannot be crafted.

Fortunately the Weekly Challenge is not difficult, nor is it tied to rank. In addition, if players have three characters they can complete it on each character every week. So that gives Destiny 2 players up to three chances per week at the Rose of their dreams. Whether it is for PvP or PvE, Rose is a solid Hand Cannon for players to have in their arsenal.

What Sort of Game Modes Are In Competitive Division

The main focus of Competitive Division is 3v3 objective-based game modes. While this new competitive playlist does not include modes like Control, it does have more intensive modes like Rift and Survival. With this new playlist, players that prefer PvP have a place to put their skills to the test while chasing a better set of rolls for Rose.

Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
