Destiny 2: How to Get One of the Game's Best Weapons This Week

One of Destiny 2's best weapons is available in a vendor's rotating inventory this week, allowing players who still may not have it to pick it up before the next reset.

Midnight Coup, the hand cannon from Destiny 2's first raid, is a Year 1 weapon, but it remains as one of the best weapons in the game. And this week, players can pick it up from the raid vendor in the Tower.

Sweeper bot Benedict 99-40 has an inventory that refreshes at each weekly reset, and currently this week in Destiny 2, Benedict is offering Midnight Coup. This is a great opportunity for players who have never gotten the weapon, plus any new players to the Forsaken expansion who never played the Leviathan raid, to get their hands on this powerful Legendary weapon.

In order to get it, players will be required to finish the Normal Leviathan raid this week. Additionally, Midnight Coup from Benedict costs 25 Legendary Shards and 35 Emperor Calus Tokens. Emperor Calus Tokens are earned by completing encounters in the Leviathan raid, and with a full run, players should be able to bank enough Tokens to come out of the raid and buy Midnight Coup.

Midnight Coup is worth getting because it fires fast and has rampage and outlaw as its base perks. With the bonus damage from Rampage and the ability to reload quickly, Midnight Coup users should be able to clear most basic enemies in a bullet or two.

Midnight Coup will come as a 340-level weapon when purchased from Benedict, but with the ability to infuse Year 1 weapons, players can quickly bring it up to a higher level. Additionally, once players earn Midnight Coup, it will appear under the Collections tab, and pulling the weapon out of Collections (for a nominal fee of a handful of Legendary Shards and Gunsmith Materials) will bring the weapon out at a level that is much closer to their current.

Even though Year 2 introduced a great new batch of weapons to chase with random rolls, Midnight Coup still remains a weapon worth keeping around. It's one of the best feeling hand cannons to use and its combination of Outlaw and Rampage help it to take down standard enemies quickly. This is definitely a weapon all players should have in their arsenal.
