Destiny 2 developer will not release its upcoming hot fix 2.7.0.2 tomorrow, Tuesday January 13th, but has instead postponed the update for a later date. This is likely a disappointment for Destiny 2 players who were hoping to have some of their major issues fixed, but it also means some of the bugs that made gameplay in Destiny 2 a little more fun will live on for a little while longer.

Chief among the bugs that will not be fixed tomorrow is the Wish Ender damage buff that appeared at the start of Destiny 2: Season of Dawn. Normally, the Wish Ender bow delivers entry and exit damage upon striking a target, but the bug made it so each arrow had multiple exit “wounds.” As a result, Wish Ender delivers far more damage than it was supposed to, although players would argue it made the weapon more useful.

Bungie never officially announced that Wish Ender was getting “nerfed” back to its normal state with the hot fix, but a community manager later confirmed the change in a forum post. Most players would have rather the weapon stay as is for the foreseeable future, but Bungie has been on a war path when it comes to OP glitches. The studio has already disabled two exotic armor pieces, so it was surprising to see Wish Ender last so long.

But while most Destiny 2 players are happy to see the hot fix get delayed, there are plenty who will be frustrated that they aren’t receiving a key fix until the later. Bungie was supposed to correct the EDZ Obelisk bug with this latest patch and unfortunately, players will now have to deal with it for at least a week longer. There is a workaround for the EDZ Obelisk bug but it is hardly ideal and as one of the key components of the new Season of Dawn content, it’s disappointing that something launched so broken.

Unfortunately, that has been the theme of Season of Dawn since the very beginning. Content has been bugged, glitchy, or outright broken and Bungie has struggled to keep up. It’s possible that the coming hot fix had its own bugs or problems and so Bungie decided it best not to add fuel to the fire of criticism it has been receiving. No doubt the developer would have seen continued criticism if it delivered a hot fix and ended up breaking things even further.

Look for Bungie to announce a new release date for hot fix 2.7.0.2 in the future.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
