Season 3 is soon about to kick off in Destiny 2, and Bungie has started giving previews of what types of changes to exotic weapons players can expect to see in upcoming updates for the game. The specific weapon that Bungie showed off this week is the Graviton Lance pulse rifle, which is getting a major buff in Season 3 this May.

Bungie has tweeted a short video clip that shows off the new buff for the Graviton Lance pulse rifle. The video shows how multiple enemies are vaporized after one enemy gets hit by the weapon's rapid fire, as the buff seems to turn the weapon's shots into a sort of scatter grenade that seeks out enemies upon impact. The bottom of the video reads "Destiny 2 1.2.0 preview in development", so gamers can expect this buff to be implemented after the next big Destiny 2 update, which is said to roll out somewhere in May.

Other weapons that will also be undergoing changes in the next Destiny 2 update and have also recently been teased by Bungie are the hand cannon, Sturm, and the legendary sidearm, Drang. Destiny 2 players can expect improvements in the ease of gameplay in terms of these weapons in update 1.2.0.

Bungie has not given any other indications of the type of exotic weapon buffs that we can expect from Season 3 yet though, but we are eagerly waiting to see what improvements Bungie will make weapons in the game with the advent of the next season, especially as the start of Season 3 is in the same time frame as the release of the game's second expansion on May 8th, titled Warmind.

A release window other than “May” for Destiny 2 update 1.2.0 has not been provided yet, but going by previous releases it should hit either right before or alongside the new DLC. Gamers seem excited about these upcoming weapon buffs and from the video it does seem that this specific Graviton Lance pulse rifle buff might make it a formidable option in PvE.

Destiny 2 and its Curse of Osiris expansion are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Warmind launches May 8, 2018.
