Keeping a ready stock of heavy ammunition while still stronger weapons to quickly handle difficult enemies has been an ongoing aspect of Destiny 2's combat from the beginning. Some players, however, have found a way to bypass the need to carefully maintain ammo, giving them infinite use of heavy and special weapons - including some of Destiny 2's best exotics.

An animation glitch tied to relics is the culprit, though this exploit doesn't appear to work on every relic in Destiny 2, meaning that it might be difficult for some players to be able to activate the glitch during some activities like Crucible. That being said, it would appear that Titans specifically have a way of activating the glitch at any time, and can even provide infinite ammo to the rest of their fireteam.

In order to activate the glitch, players should take a look at the video from YouTuber Cheese Forever. They will need to already have some ammo in their reserves and pick up one of the several relics that pulls the players view out to 3rd person mode. By picking up the relic while reloading, the game will refill the magazine without taking away any of the reserves, which if done correctly with a rally flag can actually give more reserves than the weapon can normally hold. This will work in several activities that have relics, such as Destiny 2's Last Wish raid, although there are some occasions where the glitch doesn't activate on pickup.

For the areas lacking a relic that works for the glitch, however, Stasis Titans in Destiny 2 can activate the unlimited ammo with a Diamond Lance, created with any stasis kill on some builds. In the case of the Diamond Lance, other players can pick up this relic as well, meaning that Titans can essentially act as a consistent ammo reserve for their entire fireteam or raid party across multiple encounters. There's still a soft cap on how much ammo can be duplicated, based on individual player skill and how many stasis kills the Titan can manage in each encounter, but it does provide a considerable amount more heavy use than is regularly intended.

Using this glitch has the potential to break certain activities like raids and strikes, which can be fun for players that have already beaten these encounters multiple times. However, the infinite ammo also has the potential to impact competitive activities like Destiny 2's PvPvE mode Gambit, spoiling the fun for anyone actually attempting to play this type of multiplayer content. So, players may want to utilize this glitch sparingly in circumstances that might attract more attention from Bungie and force a fix sooner rather than later.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
